as of now there are 16 volumes in the light novel and afaik the 17th is being worked on and i think either that or an 18th will be the last one. season 1 covered volumes 1-3, 2 was volume 4-6, next season will cover volumes 7-9, and season 4 of the anime is volumes 10,11, and 14. there is an overlord movie later this fall that covers volumes 12 and 13.

In terms of confusion - yes. There's a cycle pattern that starts in early season 2 and you're already been though a little, of leaving the viewer confused but then later on letting you know what was happening and knowing the later information changes how you saw the past events. The longer the anime goes go, the more this pattern of confusion and then answers repeats but at greater intensity.

It's never explicitly said that she isn't human, but she did say near the end of the last episode that she is over 200 years old. It was only mentioned in passing so I wouldn't be surprised if you missed it. 27:45 I think she's a vampire, and that's why she looks like Shalltear. Ainz is strongest. Shalltear has best attack stat. Albedo has best defense of all guardians. Demiurge has the biggest brain he could beat every guardian given he had the time to think of a plan. Cocytus is a rounded overall fighter. Mare is the strongest mage for AoE attacks.

They not only dislike humans but other monsters as well as long as they are not part of Nazarick. Part of it because of the original game settings, Ainz guild was made up of players who all had nonhuman characters and all the designs were nonhuman( also it was implied in part that there was quite a bit of bullying by human like players towards those that chose nonhuman characters(at least that was in ainz case)) So it all kinda got passed down to the npcs and how they view humans.

bit late, but the item to summon the demon army was not in the Eight Finger's base. Demi's plan was to pretend there was such an item there, giving the narrative for why he attacked the capital. The items were both created by Demi's creator, Ulbert.

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed the anime didn't mention anything about Evileye's (the red-cloak girl) backstory, apart from her being more than one hundred year old. It would have only taken a few lines to mention her link with the Thirteen Heroes, as in the novel.

I agree... Luke did not mention.. she said she was several hundred years old... opportunity missed to call her a cougar... seriously.. there is a big connection Luke missed of her and her commareds.
