You laugh about Cutie Honey but it honestly is an OP that might show itself on an OP quiz. It's a fairly well known one from that earlier era, same with Mazinger Z's OP and Lupin's.

It makes perfect sense that magical girl shows aren't your "cup of tea"... They're meant for women and young girls... The action/"shounen" series like Demon Slayer or My Hero Acadamia are meant for young men, but I would much rather watch any of those than most of the magical girl shows, and I am a woman... There have been a lot of good magical girl shows but a lot of the time it's just the same rehashed Sailor Moon knock off with a twist.

i can say as an older dude i never got into sailor moon. i didnt really get into anime until about 2005 i think so that ship sailed. but ive been getting into most genres and really enjoy the darker magical girl ones like madoka magica and the wixoss series. but i must admit to a guilty pleasure of the ahem goofier magical girl series.

Not sure if you know but they re-booted the original Digimon back in 2020. The new series is called Digimon Adventure 2020. Maybe Digimon watch thru in the future?? Including spin-offs

For your comment about how those earlier songs seemed American inspired I wouldn't be surprised, from 46-52 the US was helping Japan rebuild so I'd imagine that resulted in a lot of the Japanese hearing American soldiers playing that type of music and therefore finding inspiration
