Hi Luke, love the content your pumping out but is it alright if you adjusted the volume a little for us headphone users? If I decrease the volume is too low I can't hear the ost or sound effects properly. If I increase the volume your voice is too loud and my eardrums hurt. Once again love the content you pump out, would be nice if the volume was adjusted similar to when you reacted to Attack on titan

The Monogatari Series is my favorite anime and the novels are a 10/10 masterpiece. Rascal Does Not Dream often gets a lot of hate for being “diet Monogatari” or “Normiemonogatari” but I really enjoy both shows. Bunny Girl Senpai is definitely heavily inspired by the Monogatari Series and they both share a lot of common themes but when people call it a copy/paste rip off or a carbon copy I have to draw the line. There are plenty of differences and Bunny Girl Senpai is a great show in its own right. It’s cool to enjoy both

Bunny girl is not legendary though! It's simply a decent show, but it just doesn't have the nearly cult status nor depth to withstand the same scrutiny that Monogatari has. I mean, it's always going to be hard to compete with NisiOisiN, someone's who's often compared with Haruki Murakami, the man's just a Literature Kami! The amount of books he's written, his obsession with detailing what makes someone a 'Genius' and it's various shades, the love for the occult intermingled with strong foundational character motivations + lofty ambitions. He wrote about a damn traffic light changing from Red to Green! And made it wonderfully enchanting by displaying the subtext between the two characters that are contemplating the human nature to value danger signals over safety signals, and the resulting conflict of interest that inherently lies between them. The contextual purpose of that excerpt? To display the two character's beliefs + understanding of the world, to bring the reader up to speed in understanding and empathizing with them if not to have their own views challenged by introducing a new perspective to think about. Really! There's a video posted 3 years ago that takes that scene right from the anime on youtube, check it out if you've got time! Just type in 'Monogatari traffic light' or 'Ougi Oshino first appearance'

An anime that has a special place in my heart. Probably because it turned out to be so f...ing different from what I thought it'd be when I randomly watched it. I thought it was just another ecchi romance, perhaps an "okay" one to pass the time, and I was smacked in the face when I realized that it was way more deep, intelligent, and emotional. And I love Sakuta's sarcastic humor so much. Luke, you're not ready... ps: Kaede's brother-complex in this show is precisely a serious subject and a criticism of the trope (through Sakuta's behavior). ps2 : when Sakuta runs home (maybe to phone Mai or something), he wasn't particularly expecting her to be at his door (hence his surprised face for 1sec).

Paranormal events happen to these girls, he fixes their paranormal problems. And there is some emotional romance between mc girl and mc boy. So if you are not into paranormal stuff then I agree with you. I myself dropped because all I cared was z.z the romance aspect between mc girl and mc boy but that's not really the focus, not being able to see mc girl for half the show in a romance anime kinda weird imo. The bunny part is also modern clickbait. Without it, it wouldn't be popular. She is in bunny costume twice or thrice whole show.

Each arc of the light novels had a different title. The first was called “Rascal does not Dream of Bunny Girl-senpai” the next arc (the one you just started) is called “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Petite Devil Kohai” the anime just kept the title of the first book even though it covers the first 4-5 books. I think they are switching to movies now for further adaptations. Probably why the first 3 episodes felt like a movie.

By the way, there are 3 movies not just 1. Two of them just came out last year in Japan so they might be hard to find online right now, but here are their titles: - Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (2019) - Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out (2023) - Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid (2023) Also, a second season has been announced with it taking place after all the movies. There's no information on its release date though, so we don't know when it will come out yet.

If you're watching it for the first time, it's better to do it separately from the reaction, it's impossible to understand anything when the anime plot is confusing, the subtitles are small and Luke pauses every 5 seconds 😂

It's great that you are finally watching this anime. Since you are watching this and you like dialogue-heavy shows/movies maybe you should consider watching Monogatari series. When watching Monogatari series I would recommend looking up the Japanese folklore and myth they are referencing throughout the anime to enjoy it even more. By the way, the Leplace Futaba was mentioning is Pierre-Simon Leplace, the mathematician/physicist not some fictional entity. Ep 4: How can you say this about Mai? You are doing the same thing as her instead of giving her a chance you are jumping to the conclusion that she isn't going to talk to the MC anymore. Random teenage boy: Ah, my girlfriend is angry at me and won't talk to me. What should I do? Master Luke: Look for the next available girl to make her your new girlfriend instead of properly talking with your girlfriend! That's like an absurd teenage boy and an equally absurd master who doesn't understand what a girl like Mai is thinking.

People who are much much older sometimes like a child or a teenager would do when they are mad. Cut Mai some slacks. If Sakuta chased her down or later on went to her to apologize and explain things, it would have easily cleared out the misunderstanding.

It's not a harem! Mai and Sakuta are the only couple, but doesn't mean some girls won't be a bit interested after being helped or guys with those girls either. The psychology of this anime plus their relationship makes it a top tier one for me, hope you enjoy it!

The fact that Mai reacts in this way and then comes to Sakuta to say "well then, why didn't you come and explain yourself" is another element that tells us something about the character: a teenage personality who wants to act more mature than she is. She acted emotionally at first, then realized her mistake and acted more maturely...but not yet as an adult who fully assumes her mistakes, hence the fact that she blames Sakuta for not coming to explain. From the outset, the show has revealed Mai as an in-between-age character. She wants to act like an adult, but isn't quite there yet, and doesn't fully accept her teenage side. It also shows how much she values her relationship with Sakuta. Which it will take her some time to understand and admit.

You are correct about Mai leaving without listening to Sakuta's explanation was immature and once she realizes it she tries to act mature by going to him but her expectation of him to come to her to explain things later on is a valid expectation.

I have both Bunny Girl and Monogatari in my 10/10 ranking for a reason, even though they are both dialogue focused, its for different reasons. No need to always compare something to something else, enjoy it for what it is, or don't and carry on. Hoping it will be the former after you are finished :)

This series has been deeply ingrained in my heart, so I am excited beyond words for the upcoming movies.
