A Lesson In Presentation (Patreon)

This month is turning out to be a rather explicit and fetish-y one by the looks of it X3  I'm not uploading the doodle in this one, because the native resolution is really what's uploaded publicly, so I figure it doesn't warrant putting up here.

Anyway, I suppose we can get right into it; First up is the rendered version of something Fluffcat had me draw up ... I think in late January (?). He'd originally been contacted by someone on a GW2 board about artwork involving his character Benelli sitting on some poor (or lucky?) human sod's face and he ended up running the idea by me for a doodle.

Wasn't super involved, and the third party was happy with it also, but then they suggested Fluff and them split cost on rendering it into greyscales and this turned out the final result the other day, which I'm honestyl quite happy with, all things considered :3

I tried a version where Benelli would have her markings represented in greyscales, but both me and Fluff agreed that the image composition worked a lot better like this than any other way.

As per usual, looking at it now, there's a couple' things I'd want to go in and fix, but you've heard that song before, so let's not go there ;b

Next up we have something commissioned by my friend Hamos/Kira Redpaw of herself and her friend Fremder about to get some~

This one I was actually a little on the fence about, as neither the sketch, nor the first compositional greyscale of the image showed any real promise of being visually interesting, but it did a complete reversal when I slapped colors on it.

Given the bright palette of both characters, I had to deepen the shadows quite a bit to avoid having the picture look awkward and just that by itself did so much for both composition and visual appeal.

Something I am very proud of, which might be a bit of an odd thing to say, is how Fremder's bits actually have that semi-lucidity flesh tends to have in those kinds of lighting conditions. Trouble is, I managed to create the effect, but failed to understand how I did so, so I'm going to have to look into doing some dedicated studies again =w=

Lastly for this particular upload, insomniacovrlrd's Jenny.

I didn't have a lot of thoughts on this at the time of drawing. In fact, it was done very much as the opposite of thinking XD but anyway, in the original idea for the image, I was going to try and include Charlie (another of Jenny's partners) in the image aswell, but it didn't want to work out compositionally, plus he would have been even more render material.

Despite what some people might call shortcomings, I'm a huge fan of insomiac's work, both artistically and from a story/character point. While his style is entirely alien to my abilities, he has great control of composition and his designs are super creative. While it was borne more of necessity than want, his pseudo-pokémon are, at least to me, on par and sometimes also superior to, the material he originally came from before the C&D slap.

I'd had talks with him about the personalities and characterisation of his roster, and while he maintains that he puts barely any effort into that aspect of his work, the fact that he puts effort into it at all already elevates his material above a lot of other art/ists. While never explicitly stated or thematized, his characters feel like their lives are more complete outside of just being eye-candy for fap material - you're welcome to fight me on this though :b~

As I wrote in the T1 post, I'd forgotten to upload Oriana before, so here she is. All the thoughts I would have shared about this particular image are in the sketch and doodle upload though, so I wont repeat myself here :3

Righto. I'll be uploading doodles and WIP's next and put in some text about each and that will most likely complete this month's upload cycle, unless something dramatic happens in the next two days.

I'm also thinking about adding some perks to the tiers, but I'll be making a more comprehensive post about that when I have it all worked out for myself and then gather some thoughts :3
