As soon as I heard the story behind this one and found a copy of the rare mail-order registered version, I had to cover it. Lost Apogee games are exciting!

For some reason, this reminded me of a very different (and terrible) game called Corpse Killer. A review of that would be hilarious.

I now want this game! Speaking of the flying demon thing. That reminds me of Shadow of the Beast when you earn your wings in the castle.

I keep thinking you're playing as a Predator.

Like a minute into this I knew I wanted to play it. Couldn't wait till you got to the bit about obtaining a copy. That's sad. At least it's still "available" in some form. EDIT: Shit! I just looked at my DOS game "digital library". I have two different copies already! I'll probably check it out at some point in DOSBox.

Damn. This looks (and sounds like it plays) pretty bad-arse. I'm sure I'd have loved the crap out of this back then had I even known it existed. Certainly feel like I want to go check this one out a little more. Always great to see a spotlight shined on some games that one might have otherwise missed out on :D

It says Alien in the title, but that cover, the intro cinematic and the protagonist's sprite are more akin to Predator. I'm amazed I never heard of this game until now. Definitely want to try it out. Also, I can't praise the artist(s) of the game enough for using proper pixel art for many of the more organic sprites instead of going crazy with 3D rendered monstrosities (as seen in the intro sequence).

Wow, I remember playing this games years ago as a kid with my brother! It was one of our favorites - it is good looking, action paced and my ten year old me loved the violence :-) As far as I recall, we had a shareware version from some PC games magazine CD.

Cheers LGR!

Heh, thankfully this is almost nothing like Corpse Killer. Still looking for a PC copy of that one though!

Always great to shine a light indeed, this one was a nice surprise. I'd known about it for years, but didn't know it was actually this enjoyable

Oh yeah, I'm so glad they went with classic sprite art over the pre-rendered stuff. See those shots from the Duke Nukem Forever sidescroller? All those ugly pre-rendered sprites, it's nasty

wow.. some fascinating history for that game... I can't say I remember this one either
