I'm 100% intrigued. First thing to do when I get home.

Hurray for the return of the LGR Christmas Clone!!!

Anonymous

I look forward to December for this reason - Christmas clones and nostalgic LGR intros - more than pretty much anything else.

Anonymous

I hope the clones never leave!

It's not Christmas until the clones show up. Also, I love your little record player/stereo area. Its classy. Regarding the game, I wasnt expecting it to go into bizarre territory with the slight horror soundtrack, mad scientist backstory, and unsettling vibes. Also, I'm going to be haunted by that candle.

Dude, the LGR Christmas clone rising like a decoration that was stored for a all year cracked me up. Awesome stuff. I missed the LGR clone.

You don't turn off the clock to improve performance, you turn off the clock to release yourself from the grasp of time! Also I need that pizza calendar.

Oh, how I missed this intro music... awesome!

I believe it's from Jazz Jackrabbit's Christmas edition if you want to listen to it on its own.

My favorite episode of the year! Chris-mus! And I was not expecting this game to be even halfway decent. Christmas games are notoriously riffable.

Ah, Big Fish games. I have A LOT of these in the digital versions. If you subscribed for a year for less than the price of a full game ($6.99) they gave you an adorable plushie of their mascot fish (I don't know if they still give you one). Besides the discounts the subscription gives you, every month you get a code for a game of your choice (you need 2 for a Collector's Edition like this one), and every six codes you use you get an extra one free. I accumulated DOZENS of them, and I still haven't played them all. And curiously, it seems the majority of their games (at least in this particular genre) have a lot of care put into them. Despite the similar gameplay and puzzles they don't just recycle assets. Most of them come with beautiful art, enjoyable music and decent to good voice acting. Some of them are creepy, others normal and others quite funny. I never played this particular one, though, but I'd be surprised if I didn't own it. Anyway, here's to another month of Christmas clone's crazy antics.

Annnnnnd I bought the DOOM soundtrack on vinyl.

That calendar is genius.

Desk Christmas lights ON, a glass of red wine, LGR socks. I'm ready. Like a kid waiting for his favorite show.

Anonymous

Can we talk about that Pizza calendar?

Evan B

wow... I wouldn't have expected that from that type of game!

I love Christmas even if I'm from FL and have never seen snow despite being a decade older than you. Anywho are there any Christmas games that have Christmas lights on palm trees, because that's my vibe. I'm hoping for Vice City II: Christmas Clash for the next GTA game.

I did not expect to see you cover a Big Fish hidden object game. I did not expect to enjoy the video so much. I think I’ll see if I can find this on iOS...

avfusion

Ah Big Fish games. Over the last decade, my mom collected nearly all of the games they made in the finding object category. And if that seems like a lot, it is.

Kris Asick

Any piece of entertainment which deviates from the Christmas formula to deliver something different with Christmas as merely the setting instead of the theme frequently ends up exceeding expectations. ;)

That was hilarious, and the game seems better than expected, love the way over the top graphics...

While you didn't cover it in a formal review, the Barbie carnival adventure you Let's Played with Pushing Up Roses was a Hidden Object game.

Nice listening setup! You should do a top 5 or 10 favorite albums video sometime!

LazyGameReviews

Thanks! Music is a big hobby of mine but one that I prefer to keep to myself for the most part. If I turn every hobby into something for LGR then I won't have any relaxation outlets left :)

Cleverly Blonde

I loved this. Felt like the good old classic PRACTICE MODE LGR :)

evistre

Great as always! The clones made me laugh. Thanks :) Someone mentioned WebTV today and I got to wondering if you've done a retrospective on it? The service was shut down in 2013, so playing with it now might be a bear. I've never used it, myself, but am curious how it worked.

LazyGameReviews

Yeah I'm not aware of any way to show it in action, nor did I use WebTV back in the day so I don't really have any experience to talk about. So a video is unlikely, unfortunately. Unless it's a Tech Tales maybe.

evistre

Aww, oh well - thanks for considering it! :) A Tech Tales might be fun, I always enjoy those.
