Had to split the reaction into 2 parts cause I don't know wtf is happening with my editing software and why I sat from midnight until 5:30 AM trying to export this fucking reaction 🙃

my review of the season -1 season very different from the previous ones. the other seasons highlighted the creativity and imagination of the participants. this season has put more emphasis on the different possible combinations, paying attention to the cohesion of the new combinations more than to the spectacular or creative aspect. my favorite performances this year were rather at the beginning of the season Snap, Nxde, bad Blood are my 3 favorite performances with the incredible performance of Bora at the very beginning. overall I enjoyed this season because I was able to discover several idols that I knew little or not at all. (Yeonhee, Jiwoo, Hwiseo, Sangha, Fye) and of course to rediscover idols that I really like (Kei, Dohwa, Nana, Jihan, Yeeun, Yeoreum, Miru, Juri, Jiwon, Wooyeon, Suyun, Soojin, Elly) for the others I like them as well of course but we all have our biases. - 2 I am satisfied with the line up of the group 5 of them were part of the members that I saw integrated into the group at the start of the show Kei, Nana, Yeeun, Yeoreum, Yuki, . I'm surprised to see that Yeonhee and Hwiseo have grown in maturity and popularity during the show. I didn't think they would have joined the group at the very beginning of the show. disappointed as even for Jihan it was for me a value as sure as Nana. very happy for Yeonhee who gave her all for the show, I saw that she was involved and it's deserved. -3 for eliminated members -Jihan my biggest surprise she was in the top 7 for a good half of the show I'm curious to know when and why she lost her place - Dowha curiously I knew that she would not be part of the group yes she has a lot of experience and had a good leadership and a good attitude with the other girls. but many members could also bring this experience and something more to the group Kei can be the leader and main vocal, Yeeun can be leader and main rapper, same for Nana or Yeoreum. Dohwa even if she is very competent is not above these girls. so you might as well take girls who, in addition to leadership, will bring something more to the groups. this is how i see the positions of the group -4 group composition for me Kei (captain, leader, main singer) Hwiseo (center, lead vocal) Yeeun (sub leader, main rapper) Nana (main dancer, sub rapper, sub vocal) Yuki (lead rapper, sub vocal) Yeoreum ( maybe leader if it's not Kei or sub leader if it's not Yeeun ) (main dancer) Yeonhee (lead vocal, lead dancer

This season was interesting given the new style, personally prefer the other Queendom style. Overall i'll give it a meh out of 10, I feel it won't be memorable I'm happy with the lineup even if it was very obviously a popularity thing not an actual talent thing - and I'm happy Yuki is in the group as for a while I really thought there'd be no "international" representation (I swear kpop/fans are getting worse regarding international idols) But my main issue is the name - EL7Z UP (else-up) like, whatever MNET were drinking or smoking when they came up with that - I want some

Last Piece - I'm really glad I got to know Choi Youngjun through Boys Planet. And it's kinda crazy to see the difference between the two shows. He was a lot stricter on BP because those boys had a lot more to learn. But here he's very chill and just fun to be around. - It's obvious which song is the winner here, right? - REALLY impressed with Jiwoo here, she absolutely carried that final third of the song. - It wasn't just filmed better, the audio was also mixed a lot better. - Uhh, do I really want to reveal Dohwa's final rank? I feel like it might make you very upset 😬 - Viki subtitles are behind the times, the + was already removed from EL7Z UP's name. - WJSN Eunseo! - And once again I ask you, Daniel: how the hell do you survive in a heat like this? I can barely handle anything above 25 🙃 - That Up/Downvote idea for the finale is evil, Mnet should hire you. - Oof, Dohwa and Juri? I feel for you, man. - I've changed my mind. I said at some point that I can understand the existance of eliminations. But now you have everyone involved with the finale anyway so why not keep everyone in the competition? - But it's nice to see Fye and Dohwa still together. - So we're getting the field day / trip in the finale. - The first two groups go to these awesome places with great food and the last group goes to MOTHERFUCKING SUBWAY. EVEN ON QUEENDOM PUZZLE THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM SUBWAY. - I mean, look at this shit. The Korean and Thai food places look really cozy and inviting. And then there's Subway with all the charm of the fast food place that it is. - To be fair, apparently Subway is a lot better in Korea than everywhere else. I can believe that the sandwhiches do actually look like that. - Yes, those remix battle performances were the kind of stuff I would expect from the first round of a Queendom show. But apparently the Mnet execs forgot that the budget and production value is supposed to go UP with the following rounds. Not down. - You could just debut that entire Charismatic team as one 12 member group and no one would complain. - I misheard you comment about Snap as „This is Stannis' favourite song“ and for a second I was confused wtf Stannis Baratheon had to do with this Well, Sangah is basically one of the Red Witches, right? - So yeah, Snap is my favourite performance in this episode. And it's not even part of the competition. What do I make of that? - Why does Wooyeon's name have a W in it? Congratulations, you just summoned *German Guy who doesn't speak Korean* to explain aspects of the Korean language. Basically, Wooyeon's name is written as 우연 in Hangul. If I were to transcribe that exactly according to the rules of revised romanisation, I get her name spelled as U-yeon. And that's the proper Korean pronounciation. In fact, there doesn't even exist a syllable that is pronounced as „woo“ in the Korean language. At least not in the way that we pronounce it in English. This becomes especially apparent in the other direction. If you watch Loona's Pose performance from the finale of Queendom 2, Hyeju has a line where she mentions Hollywood. Listen closely, she pronounces it as „Holly-ood“. No W. That 우 letter is the closest thing that Korean has to „woo“. But there's no W in there. The reason why 우 is written as „woo“ when romanising names is probably to make the pronounciation easier for foreigners. It's not exactly right but it's close enough. Btw, this also applies to Jiwoo. Her name is spelled as 지우 which actually transcribes to Ji-u. And what about Jiu from Dreamcatcher? Her name is actually spelled differently: 지유 which transcribes to Ji-yu. The Korean language and it's alphabet have some limitations. Quite a few consonants that we have in English just don't exist in Korean. F is another example. This is why Fye gets written as 파이 (Pai). F gets substituted with the equivalent of P most of the time. But I checked how Fye is pronounced in the original Thai and it IS with an F. Not a P. All of the Koreans here are just mispronouncing it. - Hwiseo kills us with her lip bite and Dohwa kills us with the tongue. - Look, it's Kei's two girlfriends! - Centre of Kei-Pop! - Never has someone swept me off my feet as fast as Hwiseo. When she first joined H1-Key about a year ago, she was just „that one new member“ to me. I didn't pay much attention to her. But then came episode 2 of Queendom Puzzle, Hwiseo sang Tomboy and it was immediately clear that she would make it into the top 7. Winning first place is 150% deserved. - I want to take this moment to recommend a cover stage that Nana did together with Billlie's Moon Sua and Tsuki where they performed Better by BoA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mS26tlTpFLE - Believe it or not, the people Taeyeon interviewed there are not the three candidates for 7th place. Ranks 8 and 9 are actually taken up by Suyun and Wooyeon. - „I'm the one who ends things“ Holy shit Taeyeon 💀 - Weird reaction from Taeyeon to Yeeun's wish to meet overseas fans. Almost as if that „global tour“ that was promised might not really happen 🤨 - The final lineup is exactly the same as the top 7 from the previous episode. I'm very sad that Dohwa isn't there but overall this is gonna be an amazing group. - Damn dude, do you even have a normal sleep schedule these days? - Yes, H1-Key is coming back on 30 August and also Purple Kiss on 5 September. And if we expand to groups from other seasons, Brave Girls have just made their comeback! They're now called BBGIRLS and have released a new single called One More Time.

These are the full ranks and scores for the finale: 1. Hwiseo 444,495 2. Nana 430,450 3. Yuki 394,649 4. Kei 376,553 5. Yeoreum 371,096 6. Yeonhee 358,059 7. Yeeun 350,517 8. Suyun 302,579 9. Wooyeon 300,106 10. Jihan 293,904 11. Elly 292,486 12. Juri 282,362 13. Jiwoo 274,403 14. Dohwa 229,076 Yes, Dohwa is LAST. What the fuck. Overall Queendom Puzzle was a frustrating show and easily my least favourite season of the monarchy series. It's like Mnet stopped giving a shit about this show really early on. I kept watching because I was already a fan of most of these girls and I was invested in them. And it was great to get to know them all a bit better. Especially because I don't really watch much variety from individual groups directly.

actually now that you say it DG I can have the same feeling as you. MNET production are generally really good there is a lot of money and resources to use for their shows. and in particular in their survival. but I don't see any of that in Puzzle. the performances are really minimal in terms of set, object, costumes and effects. if compared with Kingdom or even the first season of queendom it's day and night. same remark for the preparations of performances. we really see the minimum of their training. I understood that the purpose of "puzzle" was to show different combinations of groups. but if MNET doesn't show us the backsatge of their workouts, we can't really tell which combination works best. the girls all seem to get along well but apart from a few duos Dowha / Fye, Yeeun / Miru, Nana / Jihan, we don't know which combination of groups was the most relevant. We are based solely on our favorites and their position in a group of 7.

fabrice maire

I can understand your feelings even if I don't share them. many of us have seen it happen. although Dowha could indeed be a good leader and brought a good spirit to the team. other girls can do it too. the thing is in terms of skill Dowha does not compete with Kei in terms of vocals, or with Yeeun in terms of Rap or Yeoreum in terms of dance. the leader of the team must not be "only leader" they must bring something. that's why very quickly at the beginning of the show I didn't feel that she could end up in the final group if Kei or another girl with experience was in the group. I am not minimizing the skills of Dowha I just think that compared to the skill of kei the argument of the good leader is not enough. anyway 95% of the time the oldest member ends up being the leader. and if Kei and Dowha had been in the band I think Kei would have ended up as the leader. unless Kei doesn't want to be, which is possible. it's also the reason (in my humble opinion) why people chose Kei more than Bora as a member of the group despite Bora's incredible vocal ability. I think that from the beginning the people who voted for Kei saw her as the main vocal and leader in the group.

Marcel Wannieck

I didn't just like Dohwa for her leadership skills. For me it was mainly about her charisma and stage presence. She brings a kind of flair to the stage that none of the other candidates had.

Thank you so much for reacting to this show! This show has had it's ups and downs but I enjoyed experiencing it with you every week. I'm very happy with the final group but Dohwa is my missing piece. Hopefully mnet gives them good songs and the tour includes more than just Korea and Japan. I feel like mnet must have run out of budget for the second half of this show. I would have loved to see more of Elly's tour vlog instead of episode 8 but I guess they only got the idea after everyone suggested things that they could have done instead :) If your personal top7 includes Yeonhee, Suyun, and Juri maybe you should check out rocket punch ;) Loved your reaction as always!

Bora saying the “바로 나야“ (”paro naya” / “that’s me”) in the same way that it was sung in O.O.O made me so emotional for some reason

Last Piece - The double intro (and the pause) is a bit awkward. - The highly contested walking part went to Elly, yet they don't focus on her in that part... 🫣 - Hwiseo and Yeoreum killed it, but all were good. I felt that the difference between the best and worst was smaller here than in Billionaire, which made this feel stronger as a whole / a stronger team. - The girl in the crowd that made you laugh was WJSN Eunseo, and she's always a 🤡. She was also clowning with SinB in Queendom 2. - Seeing Yeeun (CLC) made me want to inform you that today Sorn (CLC) also had a comeback, featuring Seungyeon (CLC)! Also, Elkie (CLC) had a comeback today! - Giving the past contestants up/down votes? You're evil 😈 - We finally get a bit of the relaxing episode that we didn't get before. I liked that. - Subway??? 🤣 So that's where the budget went... 🤣 I'm glad they still were able to afford that after that expensive trip to "find the recording rooms". - "We saw each other every day for 4 months" 😲 Damn, that's a lot more than I thought. Charismatic - I liked that everybody looked really comfortable. Great performance. Snap - I still love Kei's voice - Bora still a bit awkward in this girl crush song - A Thanos glove prop would indeed have been hilarious 😂 - I think I prefer both performances over Billionaire and Last Piece tbh. - Wooyeon's name in korean is indeed actually Oo-yeon (우연) but it is pronounced Woo-yeon, even though the "w" can be quite silent. Same with woo!ah! which in korean is Oo-a! (우아!) but pronounced as Woo-a! Same with Jiwoo, in korean is Ji-oo (지우), but pronounced Ji-woo. - Fun fact: while Yeonhee looks like Dahyun, there actually is a Dahyun in Rocket Punch as well 😅 Final Ranking 1. H1-KEY Hwiseo 444,495 2. woo!ah! Nana 430,450 3. Purple Kiss Yuki 394,649 4. Lovelyz Kei 376,553 5. WJSN Yeoreum 371,096 6. Rocket Punch Yeonhee 358,059 7. CLC Yeeun 350,517 8. Rocket Punch Suyun 302,579 9. woo!ah! Wooyeon 300,106 10. Weeekly Jihan 293,904 11. Weki Meki Elly 292,486 12. Rocket Punch Juri 282,362 13. tripleS Jiwoo 274,403 14. AOA Dohwa 229,076

Laura

I also really wanted Dohwa to make it to the final 7. I think that's the one I'm most disappointed about (kind of Elly too) but now that everyone has been announced I don't know who I would take out in exchange for her if given the choice bc I really am happy for everyone that made it. It's not really a situation where anyone didn't deserve it. I guess I was always going to feel a bit sad for someone not making it. And I'm pretty happy with Hweiso taking the top spot but also Yuki with that speech is the one I ended up feeling the most affection for. All in all, I'm happy to have gotten to know more groups/idols and see them getting to know each other but also to kind of be done with this version of Queendom. Really hoping to not go back to this format next time or at the very least see Mnet make some major improvements.

M

Hey Daniel~ Was wondering if you would be keen to react to The Second World? :) It's a singing competition between some rappers of girl groups!
