The PTR 91 is an HK 91 alternative and it has many fans.  You will find almost universally positive press on the gun.  The PTR 91 by PTR Industries represents 60s technology.  But all the requesters of this review, perhaps confused about all the online hype on it, are considering the gun over a modern AR10 style of rifle.  It is with this mandate that approach the PTR91 pistol review.  I took a long look at this heavy handgun in terms of accuracy, reliability, enjoyability in shooting, durability, accuracy, and ergos. You'll find my 2017 review of the type here: https://youtu.be/_a6cgDGhEuY.  Then we were disappointed in most respects with the PTR 91 and this data is shown in the video.  Perhaps this pistol version will fair better? For 2nd Cool, the PTR 91 certainly holds interest for many collectors: it looks good, the HK G3/91 history is fascinating, and cost is not exorbitant.  But you're still looking at a very heavy obsolete gun that is overly hyped.

Your Dream Gun? PTR91 .308 Pistol

The PTR 91 is an HK 91 alternative and it has many fans. You will find almost universally positive press on the gun. For years I've been asked to review this gun. We finally get one and put it through standard TNP testing. The PTR 91 by PTR Industries represents 60s technology. Someday it's going to be a M1A in my safe...

I liked the concept of compact 308 roller lock for a few reasons: with all the ammo shortages of this decade 308W/7.62x51mm always seemed available. plus with all the recent price increases its only 10%-20% more to shoot over 5.56mm. makes a cool Suppressor host. abundant and cheap mags. by alternative i haven't found a AR-10 shorty that is reliable. but truth be told PTR has discontinued this 12.5" model and only build a 8" model (palm slap to to face) a 8" 308W is just silly and i told them that.
