Here's one of my favorite watches, the Alpina Startimer series. 100% Swiss made and featuring classic styling, these have been shown in TNP for years...now it's time for the official feature length WRV. These have been taken on all kinds of TNP adventures from boating to diving to shooting. In prep for the review I secured six varieties to show you including the automatic version (always more expensive). Some cool camouflaged versions have been issued and I'll show you my favorite, the Urban Camo, also below in link. These watches feature typical Swiss quality with sapphire crystals, Sellita SW200 auto movements, perfect water-tight pushers, and excellent straps. Some smaller 42mm pieces are also reviewed, some featured my hands modification work to get rid of the sliver hands! You'll see for the first time here my watch "sensei" Chris Howard; he's helped me gain expertise in their disassembly.

These Startimers could be the pride of your collection and, while availability and cost always fluctuate, they are worth it!

I love my Fieldwalker. They discontinued them but I was lucky to pick up the steel bracelet they sell for it. It's a butterfly clasp but it's so how I should have bought the watch in the first place. The engineering bracelet is so damned comfortable.

Just picked up a blue startimer chrono (quartz movement) for a smokin' deal on the used market. The previous one with the "day" dial. Pretty much brand new. I'll wear it for a bit to see how I like it. Given the price I got it for, I can always turn it around and at least break even if I ultimately don't like it. I'm kinda new to watches. Only picked up a dw5600 G-Shock earlier this year since I figure it could take a beating if I smacked it around a bit. I fell in love with Alpina's design language from this vid and been on the hunt since. Too early to draw conclusions, but the watch itself seems very nice. I'll wear it at work for a while to see how I like it. Thanks, nutn, for turning me onto this brand!
