I don't know why I'm shocked to see y'all react to this, but okay let's get into it. The other track that has gum in the title immediately makes me think of Jessi. So this is only my second time listening to it and seeing the music video. So far the only thing that I really really like is the beat And dance in the chorus. I think it's going to take a few more listens for me to get into the actual song. Also how long was this song. Oh, I can definitely understand the tension that you're talking about. Also, I just realized that his boots have fangs on them. Is this yeonjun's villain era? I will say he did have a couple more in the video where he was like a not nice guy. So I could definitely see this being his villain era. I really love that chorus. That's funny because if I didn't have the lyrics on I definitely wouldn't have thought he was saying a Korean word. It sounded like he was saying gum chew gum which made sense to me. But I definitely get the Korean word of it. That's cool. We have a lot of sticky things. This era. First jjam, then sticky and now ggum. Yeah I could definitely see this being a performance song.

The shoes have changed positions! I repeat, Han-C's shoes have changed positions!

I don't yet how I feel about this song. I LOVE the dance, but mostly my brain has that musical 'itch' trying to figure out when/how I know that very first section.. there is something about that beat and vibe and it's confounding me. Like a word that's just slipped my mind... argh. I'm thinking movie soundtrack, but from where! I just know I'm going to wake up from a dead sleep in the next couple of weeks and it'll come to me lol

He does always have his team, as they kept showing up for him (surprising him) when he was working on this, even though they had their own solo schedules. Kai showed up to the filming site for the MV, bringing food for Yeonjun as well as all the staff. They really are such sweet boys, all of them!

This is my first time hearing GGUM, and I am in love. WOW. I love all of the attitude, synth and discordant harmony.

Also......Changbin and Yeonjun are really good friends, so I hope they'll do a GGUM dance challenge together.

Yeonjun fans who were on his pre recording said that Changbin and Tag were there for support too, so I hope we're getting one😊

I surprisingly have a lot of thoughts about this. I say surprisingly because I personally don’t follow txt much; I don’t hate them or anything but aside from Sugar Rush Ride, their music just doesn’t grab me. That being said, before I really knew of txt, I watched a random video of Hybe idols doing a Random Dance Play competition and Yeonjun absolutely blew me away on the show. I see this song getting A LOT of hate but seeing him like this is actually a breath of fresh air to me. I am scratching my head trying to figure out why so many ppl don’t like it, so I was like- ok let’s see it live and see if it falls short, but tbh when I watched the music show performances, I thought it was even more powerful. Idk man, I love this track and I love seeing Yeonjun be a 남자 baddie lol and yeah, the guy can dance.

Handsome Sausages

oh he's such a wonderful dancer - to be fair, this song CAN be confusing to a LOT of people, and just the way things are laid out makes it less memorable (apart from the chorus) and sing-along-able so that's probably why. It's a bit too strong musically and could sound 'noisy' to many! We sometimes have to think twice about how the track may be perceived as well because we listen from a completely different angle XD

Handsome Sausages

Very understandable actually! :) first section aside, this song is bound to make you 'try to figure out' out of confusion in general!

Handsome Sausages

XD TXT was one of the very first groups we followed ! :D OFC we're going to react to Yeonjun! Villain era sounds about right though - we always thought Yeonjun would be an amazing solo artist so we were extra happy to see this! And you're totally right about the 'sticky' trend XD It's wild how things connect this way in Kpop industry

rlm66

Well SKZ is my ult and ATEEZ is my 2nd and I was into metal before kpop so I guess “noisy” is my cup of tea lol I thought it was sick and after hearing your breakdowns of those Korean lyrics, I loved it even more. I want to root for him and since he is a part of txt, respectably, I’d like to cheer them on too.

I woke up this morning and went "Lost Boys"! - that very first section just unlocked a memory of "Cry Little Sister" by Gerard McMann from the soundtrack. I had to compare and it's sort of similar, (the 'drum' pattern) at least in my brain, but it was def what I was thinking of.. once I remembered what it was haha.

Changbin and Yeonjun did a GGUM challenge. :) https://youtube.com/shorts/bGpgvcHBppE?si=EuCadMIVZiuaguaX
