Hey everyone,

I updated itch with the new release.

This update is pretty packed with a lot of small changes, especially in the technical level. I hope this will get rid of a lot of painfull little annoyings bugs!

The UI is finally done ! I hope this will look far more polished than the previous version and that you'll like it.

And the arcade is finally open, nearly one year after the area was released. This took time but I hope it will be worth it. The mini-game is pretty experimental, so I'm curious to hear about your feedback, especially balance (difficulty but also token gained : is that too much, too little?). Since you can switch back arcade token to money, this also provide another source of infinite income, which is good for the game economy.

I'm also pretty happy about the questline that I did for the diaper club. This is less gamy and more narrative based, and I hope you'll enjoy it.

As noted in my previous post, I divided the release in two builds :

- The 0.3.4a contains all the performance improvement

- The 0.3.4b contains no culling

Thoses who which to cross-test can download both and get back to me if there's no changes/notables changes. Otherwise, just go straight for the 0.3.4a.

Edit : I updated the 0.3.4a build with a fix which make the diary appear again when you hit the button. Sorry about this !

World:

The supermarket goes a whole new look and is more on par with recently rewamped levels.
Added a toy store in the city center.
The city stores are now part of the city map.
Added a washing machine in the diaper club room so you can clean up accidents.

Story :

The arcade can now be fully opened. A new mini game has been added to  the arcade :Baby Baby rush. In the classic platformer style, try to get  to the end of the level with the maximum score !

A new side quest is available for the diaper club.

NPCs :

NPC can now, in some occasions, follow players around and comment player's actions.

Hospital guards and nurses are now able to be hit, stunned or distracted to help player go through.

UI :

Inventory and equipement panel updated.
Inventory now have multiples panel to help organize items.
Stores panels updated.

HUD icons are now x1,5 time bigger

Items :

Introducing multi currency : some stores will have their own  currency, like the arcade will only accept arcade tokens as the main  payment.
Added some prizes to the arcade to be gained in exhange for some tokens.

Technical:

Debug: you can now use the command questbool to forcefully trigger an in-game flag. See this link for a full list of commands.

NPC now get culled when out of vision to improve performance.

The hospital level now get culled when out of camera to improve performance.

Improved the loading mechanism between level so the player doesn't fall out of bounds

Corrected a bug in the event system opening forcefully a random UI panel after hitting space or enter.

shoe/sock update when? those shoes we wear HAVE to be running on the end of their lives.

Haha yeah indeed this is a good point. It shouldn't be too hard to implement but I'll have to make a new equipment slot. No hard promise on a fixed date but I might be able to squeeze something in the next update, depending if I find good assets to use.
