Omg I love this and the whole MO you have with “ anticipation for recording GOT” and getting them early is so awesome!

Bran Flakes

Season 4 is the best and peak of GOT, for me. It has 4 of my all time favourite episodes: 6, 8, 9, and 10.

Ciara Armstrong

I'm always so thankful when you post, but then once I've watched it I just get greedy again for more haha

That was Ned Starks Valarian steel sword. Not Robbs

Robert L

Blackfish was able to escape because he went to take a piss before the freys and Bolton betrayed Robb.

Mama Browsss

Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Mauro

Oh I can’t wait for the next two episodes

The first scene with the swords: that was the Stark's ancestral Valyrian steel sword called Ice. Ned used it to behead the Nights Watch deserter in the first episode. It was also used to behead Ned at the end of s1 :( Love that intro scene symbolizing the downfall of House Stark. Beautifully shot and scored

Say hello to the best late comer character ever created. In some ways the show version of Oberyn is superior to the books, simply because Pedro Pascal is charisma incarnate.

Laura Thornley

And a few others in the book escape because they realised what was happening and organised fighting back long enough to get away. Shame they cut out Maege Mormont and her daughters (aka, the sister and nieces of Lord Commander Jeor) because they were a bunch of badasses.

Laura Thornley

I mean technically it was Robb's by inheritance, he just never got to receive it.

2023-08-11 00:23:34 Yes! Love that expression charisma incarnate, perfect description. I almost always feel a show or movie doesn’t do the same justice to a character as the book. They fall short of what my perception of the book character was. But it was different with GOT. I feel many of the characters just got amped up. I love the casting of the show and majority of actors interpretation and portrayals.

Actually, I checked myself. I was wrong. The survivors weren't even there - they were elsewhere doing other duties. No-one escaped, but there were a lot of captives.

Thenns in the show are... different from the book. They are more like the Ice River Clan (aka, cannibals) - whereas the Thenns in the books are the most 'civilised' of the Free Folk, having a stronger military hierarchy and mine copper and tin to forge their own bronze weaponry rather then using scavenged iron, stone and bone weaponry that most of the other Free Folk have to make do with. But they are so striking as 'villain' Wildlings that I let it pass.

Also I do love the callout to Ser Duncan the Tall in the White Book. He was one hell of a knight, and you should read the Dunk and Egg short stories at some point to learn about him. He's also an ancestor, supposedly, of Brienne - which is where she perhaps got her great height (also also its rumoured Hodor might be a descendant too).

Pedro pascal. Excuse me while I just pick myself up off the floor 😍

This was my first time meeting Pedro Pascal, and many others as well. Either way, I have yet to find a GOT fan who did not like Prince Oberyn Martell and especially Pedro's performance of the character! Without a doubt, he is one of the five actors who excelled in their performance. Up there with Charles Dance for Tywin, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau for Jaime, Rory McCann for the Hound and Liam Cunningham for Davos.
