My senses were a little wigged out as I swear I felt some foreign mana go over our forms even though Victoria made zero sign of feeling it even as I looked at her for confirmation.

But thankfully I had a dozen gods inside my soul with Hecate whispering into my soul. "Yes Jake, there was indeed some dimensional energy skating past you... Do you know why that is?" She questioned making my lips twitch before it hit me.

'Another Oblivion Gate.' I sent back in a mental message with Hecate chuckling and saying teasingly.

"Indeed but this was going to happen no matter where you had landed... As the Deadra will want to test you." She whispered in warning before her divinity sunk back into my soul in rest.

I sighed with Victoria looking at me with concern as I stood up. "Here, is your payment good sir. I recommend getting into your cellar as another Oblivion Gate is opening." I advised the inn owner as my peasantry clothes faded away into my white, gold, and ruby gem-encrusted papal outfit as I strode out in the city again.

"Are we leaving sir?" Victoria asked plainly and I knew she was asking if we were going to abandon this city to its fate and after a moment I shrugged.

I could feel Victoria's wry smile at my shrug so I answered frankly. "I have a general idea on how to destroy an Oblivion Portal from in the inside, as each Portal is attached to a military outpost basically. And should we go in, and kill the Dremora and Deadric forces and finally steal the Sigil Stone that is operating the portal, the portal itself will collapse with us being teleported out of the Deadlands."

Thankfully the Oblivion portals didn't directly lead to the Deadric Prince's personal realms and were instead being held by lesser Deadric Lords who held their kingdoms in the molten craggy Deadlands of the plane of Oblivion.

"But no... I don't plan to just run anyway." I said though I really wanted Delta here to be her murder blender self to deal with stuff but hey... I also sent the other minature murder blender in Zeta away to go slaughter some shitty elves so that was also another fuck up. Still, I really didn't think an Oblivion portal would open this far north in Skyrim.

Following the growing swirling tides of mana I could see the cloudy night sky above our heads were grumbling with bloody crimson lightning and seeing the lightning the few people out and about began to panic as they rushed back to their homes to go and hide.

The guards of Solitude were loudly yelling as they armed themselves as best they could in such short notice and I saw more than one of them was missing limbs or was still in recovery from the last Oblivion Portal opening a few days ago.

And finally it happened as a massive crimson bolt of lightning struck the pier just outside of the Solitude below the main city and with a howl I felt the twisted corrupted mana of the Deadra flood into the world as the Oblivion portal formed outside of our view for now.

Victoria and I ran alongside the mercenaries who followed behind the guards as the leading guard captain swore to pay any mercenaries who fought good coin for their services while asking if any mages were here so I raised my hand. "I am a mage, and I know of the way to close these damned gates as well!" I spoke loudly making the guard captain look at me.

And I could see the way he took in my outfit and the magical staff I wielded in one hand while having a short sword on my hip he knew I was an actual battle mage so he yelled out. "Good, then you lead the mercenaries to secure the left side of the portal on the outside and the same on the inside once we clear out the Deadra that will rush out!"

My face twitched hearing that. As I knew that, that meant that the guards were not at all certain of actually securing the site on their own...

But I made my bed in becoming determined to get involved in this mess. As Hecate rightfully pointed out the Deadra already knew of my actions in pimp slapping Vaermina back into her realm.

The Oblivion Portal was clear to all as we left the city towards the lower docks. The portal was a large stone portal structure made of dark twisted rockery with a swirling black and orange portal in the center. And from the portal, the essence of Oblivion was leaking out as the land around the portal darkened with splots of glowing lava strands forming from the infernal energies.

'Now let's get some-' Before I could even begin casting some wards to give us an advantage the first of the Deadra ran out of the portal screaming madly and I mentally cursed as several flying deadra fly out of the portal and directly towards the city of Solitude while a hoard of lesser Deadra in imps and basic Dremora rushed towards us.

"Victoria let's go for a walk," I said with a cold smile as we both flared our mana in a corona of power and in unison, we tapped into our domain of Baldur in his Holy Light with the weakest Imps began screaming and clawing at their eyes as the holy light blinded them.

Victoria and I fell upon the Dremora in particular like a storm of flashing blades as Victoria used her slime-long sword that was blessed with Baldur's holy light to grant true death to the Deadra that dared to stand in her way. And likewise, I used created a holy light construct around my short sword so that I had a great sword that could slash through more than three deadra per swing I made.

Although these lesser Deadra were just chaff to us, we were however given a rude awakening as a roar rang out and my face twitched as I saw a dozen twisted flesh Ogeres abominations rushing out from the portal. 'Well, shit... They have necromancers and flesh crafters on the other side of that portal.' I thought with annoyance.

That meant that we were very much on the losing end of a battle of attrition... You can never wear down a necromancer who could conjure up an army of skeleton warriors at will.
