The monthly funding goal for May 2020 has been reached, last minute GoneFishing swooped in and made sure the goal was reached by donating the remaining $70.  But we couldn't have done it without the help of all of you Patreon patrons!  Thank you all of you for your help funding us this month.  You make Aether Story possible.

Let's talk a bit about what the Cooking Profession is going to entail, well at least this first pass.

My goal is to have it so you can collect some sort of renewable cooking ingredient materials, such as frog legs, cave moss, and honey.  These renewable asset nodes will use the easter egg spawning code, where everyone will need to contest who may loot it first.  Once combat is released these items will be drops from monsters instead.

The next goal is to have a cooking crafting menu appear when you interact with certain "cooking craft stations" through-out the world. One of which will be the stove in the Inn's kitchen, but also lit campfires will be such craft stations.

The menu will allow you to cook recipes you have discovered.  The first batch of recipes will be rewards from the quests in the game:  Hungry Adventuring, Meadery Beedicament, and Fixing for Love.  If you have already completed these quests, talking to the quest turn-in NPC will teach the recipe as a quick fix.  The food you prepare then you can sell to a merchant for gold, eat it yourself, or trade with other players.

Indirectly this system will allow you to farm for gold and will create the first renewable gold source in the game. Using the surplus of gold will allow you to get all the teleport scrolls to get all the chests!

The plan is to add all of this in the first 2 weeks of June (next month).  In the meantime we are still working hard on Alpha 4, working on combat and the first act of the main story! More soon on that!
