Last week we spent a lot of time adding anti-cheat to Aether Story, you can see what happens when you try to "speed hack", the server will snap you back.  

This works by timing how long it should take you to move normally and if your actual move time is faster, then it will snap you back.

The challenge with this method is that variable latency causes some of your movements to be slower (which is fine), but some to be faster (which is not fine). So false positives started to crop up.

To solve this, I attempted to add your calculated latency into this check, which reduced the false positives, but it still isn't perfect.
