Next up, from en ep without much to say, we have one of the most lore heavy and impactful episodes of Season 1! So yeah, great timing on asking about how the Mane 6 got their marks! We get a lot of details here, for one the fact that all six of them got their marks at roughly the same time, combined with the comments that RD was the first in her class, but AJ the last in her class to get them pretty well solidified the idea that they are not all the exact same age, with AJ being on the older end and RD the younger. Add in Fluttershy's "I'm a year older then you" and her looking more gangly and awkward then the other foals, making it seem like she was older and just held back a bit in flight training because, well it's Fluttershy. We also learn that, RD does have reason to be so egotistical. Plus, see that for all she loves to brag about herself, she can and will protect others and hates putting others down with how she jumped in to protect Fluttershy. Pinkie Pie.....don't question why she ended her story with "And that's how Equestria was made!" But we do learn her full name.... even that is different then other Ponies. Also don't question how literal rock farming works. Best guess of the fandom is that they are actually growing geodes with magical crystals in them. Twilight.... so many fan ideas about why the entrance exam was hatching a dragon egg, despite Spike being the only Dragon we've seen, so it can't be a normal thing. My personal favorite take is that the egg was thought to be a 'dud', that it was an egg no one thought would hatch, and the test wasn't to hatch it, but rather to see how the applicant would try to do so, and how they dealt with failure. Though Word of Lauren is that the dragon egg test is not standard, but something Celestia added to that particular round of entrance testing on a hunch. Which along with other hints from the staff early on has led to the idea that Celestia is able to see vague hints about the future that she's gotten very good at following. Then Twilight just did it in her power surge, because Twilight is OP at magic. Also, note in AJ's flashback, the lack of mention of her parents.... whatever happened to them is a running mystery in the fandom. All this wrappped up in a framing device of the CMC doing their thing. Yeah, this is easy one of the best eps of the season, and one of the most well loved eps of the show.

Finally we have...... pretty much the agreed on 'worst' ep of the season. Though even as the 'worst' it's reception was pretty much just a collective 'meh' rather then outright dislike. It also pretty well set the stage for the majority of Spike centered episodes.... but we'll get into that. Just get used to Spike being the main source of his own suffering in the future. We do get a new addition to the mane 6 having pets, leaving RD as the only one we haven't seen with one. Beyond that....... yeah not very much to say about this....it's a Spike episode that set the bar for what to expect from his focus eps for some time.

I love your reactions! But i have a little suggestion for you: I like that you include the chat below the video - but it always triggers me, that the sentences are partially cut out if theyre too long. - It would be nice if you could readjust the letters or the chatbox, so the sentences aren't cut out all the time ^^' Thank you very much!
