pfft I am psycho so I can predict the future her cutie mark will be her. that's right her special talent is being apple bloom or my name isn't "huh?". this episode actually inspired my OC he is an earth pony who's cutie mark is a blank flank. I adore the CMC because yeah they don't have a talent so far but that's the best part because they can do so many crazy things for fun and to see what their mission is in life. but they will get their cutie marks I can't recall when but hasbro made temporary tattoo's that rubbed on with water so yeah that's when they will get them and will be able to change them when they want ^^

Ah, an ep that kind of upset a lot of people at the time. Mostly for how it solidified in their mind that the CMC episodes would just be an endless loop of them doing wacky hijinks to get their Cutie Mark, and failing to learn the lesson that it's something they simply have to wait for and can't force. Hard to believe the CMC used to be so disliked. The other thing is, if you really look at it, sure the group is all about getting their Marks, but it's really only Applebloom who is obsessed with it, the other two are excited, but no more so then any kid would be about something exciting. It's AB that takes this to the extreme and drags the other two along with her. Remember, the whole group started because Applebloom was freaking out about not having her Cutie Mark. Which, this fits into her role in the CMC for what aspect of growing up she represents. Sweetie Belle focuses on how growing up affects you relationship with your siblings, AB on the general fear, dread, and anxiety a kid feels about growing up itself. Remember, Cutie Marks are a stand in for any sort of "coming-of-age" feature, and AB's obsessions with them is just one facet of her larger anxieties about growing up, is she doing it right. Is she too slow? Will she never develop like the others? Is something wrong with how she's doing it? What will it mean when it happens? etc... her focus is on all that. In other trivia, wow this ep did a LOT of sneaking things past the censors. First off, they put in Big Lebowski ponies in the bowling alley. Then Zecora's whole bit about needing to "help a rooster find his crow" and how mornings were disappointing for him and 'his chicks'.... what's another term for rooster? begin with a 'c'.... Yeah they found a way to imply that Zecora was mixing up some viagra. Then we have "The Trots" aka "The Runs". They had a lot of fun with this. You also missed Derpy! She was among the group of foals watching AB show off.... as a foal herself.... how? Why? We do not question, her methods are beyond us who are trapped to a mere three dimensions. Though Doctor Whooves shenanigans are likely at work. In closing, you have to love this ep for at least one thing..... it gave us Pony Hazmat suits and they are so cute!!!!!
