OHHHH how I HATE jet set and upper crust. not dislike strait up HATE. I can not stand snobs at all I despise them beyond comparison to any other trope out there but jet and upper are not the top of the list there is 1 more above them later in the show and I honestly can't say what they say to make me hate them as I keep shouting STFU (un unabbreviated) every time they open their mouth. now fancy pants I LOVE him this is what hi class ponies should be. he is the top of the charts in canterlot and yet so humble the moment he calls out rarity's BS trying to hide her true self is amazing he knows she knows the mane 6 and is pretty sure she is who made twi's dress and calls it out.

Again sorry this took so long! So after the first 'bad' ep of the show, we get a really damn good ep! Now as the chat pointed out, yes, Rarity is from Ponyville, but she feels she belongs in Centerlot. As we saw a few eps ago, her accent is 100% an affectation, since her family doesn't sound at all like that. Everything she does is based on her desire to be a 'high class' pony. Which here, got to her head a little. Granted, doesn't help that the high society types are just..... flighty, stuck up idiots. Though to be fair, only Jet Set and Upper Crust seem to be out right snobs. Unless we also count Blueblood. I like to joke that Celestia uses Canterlot as a way of getting all the 'rich and powerful' type to all stay in one place, close to her, where she can contain them and keep them from getting in the way of the rest of the Ponies in Equestra who are actually doing things that mean something. Though even among them, we see some stand outs, such as Fancy Pants. The mare with him is Fluer-de-Les, and you thought she looked like an alicorn because she has the same body model as Luna, just without the wings. This has led to a fanon that she is a super model, and that after centuries of her being around, Celestia has pretty much just be existing set the standard for beauty as 'looking like an alicorn'. Though, funnily enough the second most popular thing to headcanon Fluer as if not model, is to cast her as a spy/secret agent. Which meshes with most people assuming Fancy Pants is some sort of high ranked government minister. There is also a pretty much universal fanon that Fancy Pants knew full well who the Mane 6 were (While you can excuse the rest being to head up their ass to notice such things as them saving Equestria, the fact none of them recognized Twilight as Celestia's personal protege is odd) and was trolling the other richy riches. Beyond that, you missed Derpy, she showed up in the song rocking THE absolute height of high society fashion. We also have some proof of the passage of time, but also caused some confusion. The mention that a Gala is coming up soon enough that Rarity could start selling gowns for it means it has to have been nearly a year since the show started, and this can't be a case of anachronitic order and this ep taking place before the S1 finale, because we can see the pillars in the ballroom are cracked from the events in that ep. Finally, we have the introduction of one of the most important bits of canon. Pinkie's Party Cannon! Because of course she has something like that....
