Will a Luxury Watch Be Useful in Chinese Prison? | China Uncensored
If you're going to spend the next 14 years in a Chinese prison, a luxury watch probably won't do you much good. That's what Yang Dacai is going to find out. Known as Brother Wristwatch by Chinese netizens, the smiley former head of Shaanxi province work safety administration has been sentenced to 14 years in jail for accepting $40,000 in bribes. He was exposed after netizens subjected him to a human flesh search after he was photographed smiling on the scene of a grisly bus crash last year that killed 36. They noticed he had a few too many expensive watches than this public servant should have been able to afford on his salary. He's the latest in a string of high profile political take downs, such as Wang Lijun, Bo Xilai, Gu Kailai, Jiang Jiemin, and Liu Zhijun.
