Deep Thinking Discouraged in Chinese Schools | China Uncensored
Thinking is hard and can lead young, impressionable middle school students into the dangerous habit of questioning authority. That's why they're taking out short story The Kite, from textbooks through out China, to discourage students from 'deep thinking.' It was written by famous Chinese, satirical short story writer Lu Xun (who also happened to be critical of those in power). The Chinese government doesn't want people thinking too critically at an early age and who can blame them? Other wise they might start question reports from state-run CCTV and Xinhua, even if they're factually inaccurate, like the report that Istanbul, not Tokyo won the 2020 Olympic bid.
