gay gangster ghosts 5: page 1 sketches and wips (Patreon)

so, since ggg won the poll by a tiny bit i decided i'll start with the next chapter in the bowler hats' story. I've debated for a long time whether i should finish up the story after boss managed to get revenge on romano or should i do a couple more stories before the finale. Eventually i decided for the latter since i feel there's a couple loose ends that needs to be adressed.

Now , ggg is a bit different from sketchy sunday. There i could afford to be as rough as i wanted since the idea was to make sketches and also because i decided i should make like 5 illustrations a day. GGG is a bit more intensive as far as drawing goes, so you'll have to forgive me if it doesn't go as fast as sketchy sunday. It took 3 days to make one page for the previous story, so i'll probably take just as much for this one. But we'll see.

anyways , today i started the first page, wich opens in elmwood cemetery, in memphis.

apparently the city is chock full of haunted locations, and after a brief search this place just

popped up between the others because of its beauty and atmosphere.

after sketching up where things would go in the page i started drawing the backgrounds , since i didn't have a definitive designs for the ghosts that appear on the monument nor for the hobo.

still a couple things to touch up, but i'm satisfied with it for now. Now that the bg is done it was time to populate the page.

This story opens with a trio of the most powerful and rational ghosts in memphis observing a member of the bowler hat gang they captured, and evaluating what should be done about this almost literal plague.

I had a bit of trouble on the designs of these guys, but in the end i decided to go with these:

George price is an entrepreneur ghost, obsessed with wealth and money. It's unknown why and how he does it, but he seem to have developed the power to produce money and coins that when held by a ghost make them feel the warmth and sensations of life for a brief moment. With this power, he managed to recruit a sizable working force under him , that he employs to forge tools and commodities from the inhert dead matter of the world after death

Caleb powell claims to have ridden with the wild bunch before getting  captured and executed by a firing squad, making him one of the oldest ghosts of the trio. He's easy to anger, and always ready to throw hands left and right. He apparently killed so many people in his past life that the blood of his victims still stains his hand and feet , and somehow this allows him to hurt dead people even more.  he readily used  this ability to recruit as many people as he could in a gang of his own, that he forces to dress up as wild west outlaws and threatens with beatings and pain constantly.  

the man that calls himself maskelyne apparently has no relation to the british stage magician of the same name, but he is as fond of magic tricks and prestidigitation as the original, and seems to know a whole lot about the world after death. He employs a lot of ghosts in memphis that are quite reticent to reveal why they work for him, or why they fear him so much. Some say that he made a pact with an otherworldly being...
