As far as timelines are concerned, Guts meets Griffith with the behelit that the Slug Count had (Black Swordsman arc) one year previously. So, it goes, Eclipse, Guts and Casca are in the cave. Guts leaves and one year later he is slaying the Snake Baron and Slug Count with a chance meeting with Griffith. Also meets Puck and takes the Counts behelit. Another year after that is Lost Children (still with Puck and has the behelit) and then he goes home because of Casca. Puck and the Behelit have been with Guts for probably over a year. I just absolutely think that Puck is adorable here!! Rickert still fears elves because of Rosine, and I don't blame him! I think she was at the camp to steal Rickert away since he was a kid at the time. I don't think she really took part in the eclipse itself. Can't prove my idea though.... I do feel for Farnese here a bit, she was entrusted with the command of the Holy Iron Chain Knights, and she fucked it up. Now, I think she saw herself as more than an ornamental figure head. Like Casca, it would be hard to be a woman in any military setting. She is different than Casca in a few ways too. I won't go into that yet. But I do feel for her being stripped of her assignment and getting a demotion to guard an inquisitor. Also that slight up turning of her lips into almost a smirk when witnessing a person being broken by the wheel! Oh honey! You need some help! I am not religious either, I'm an atheist. Even so, I do find religion to be interesting and part of the human condition. I think I've said this before that I share Gut's view of what a miracle is, something outside the realm of the rational or natural world. I'm equating a miracle to magic here but: "Magic is science we don't understand yet"- Arthur C Clarke. An advanced technology can look like magic or a miracle because we don't understand it. Our ancestors were humbled by preternatural phenomena that were attributed to the gods. We look upon that as quaint now. I'm still waiting to be shown a miracle, but it will probably just be technology. I myself have faced death about 3 times and have come out of it unscathed. I don't call that a miracle, I call that damn lucky. (I had a gun held to my head one time) New characters!! Mozgus, everyone thinks he is an apostle when they first see him, and I don't blame them! He is an ugly human being! We meet his torturers and how they spread the will of god! Lots of hypocrisy on display here so get ready for it. We humans can be vile creatures. We also meet Isidro, a scrappy lad just trying to make it in the world!
