Hope you had fun at Disney Land!! So Berserk is a Seinen which just means that it is aimed at adult men as a demographic. Now, it has a bit of everything as you pointed out, so it really has more appeal, but it is definitely an adult series. Shonen is aimed at boys and yes, it has those battle moves that are named. If you didn't notice, you soon will, but Berserk kind of makes fun of all the categories that manga is written in. You will see soon; I can't really say much but you will recognize it when you see it. Puck already kind of does that when he breaks the 4th wall saying that they better watch it, or they will be banned! Shonen is my least favorite story demographic in Manga. Lately I've been reading a lot of Shojo. So those bumps on the Tapasa's wrists and hands are calluses that are built up and act as a weapon itself. You can see this with practitioners of Shaolin Kung Fu. Even if Berserk has big dick energy, it has a lot of feminist themes in it. I would say that most of the best characters in this series are female and as you have just seen with these few chapters, Luca has her own ideas of how to take care of each other and survive as a woman in this world. In fact, for as much as its worth (and it's not worth much) Berserk does pass the Bechdel test.
