Nice follow up, Hatman. I was having a similar discussion with my Granddad only last week and he described the Caribbean community as being a free-for-all and how there isn't much community spirit at all, and there are extreme examples I've seen when young black guys are claiming that white people in general are targeting all black people, but then those same guys will kill members of their own race because of a postcode etc - surely the last thing you should do is carry out your percieved enemy's objective for them.

Great commentary Hatman. One thing I consider is that the legacy of slavery with its destruction and abuse, creates a depression and feeling of hopelessness which is passed on through generations like any other severe abuse. Living here in the US this is how I reconcile how we see recent African immigrants advancing more quickly than the African-American community. I work with a lot of African American youths who do feel hopeless or depressed, and I see the lethargy grow as they try to just emotionally survive. Lots of work to do rehabilitating the community in this aspect, whereas recent immigrants who came of their own wishes, see the US as a land of opportunity like most voluntary immigrants. Anyhow, always appreciate the critical analysis and getting to the root of issues be it boxing or society.
