August Schedule 2019 (new tier announcement) (Patreon)

Hello everyone! It’s my two year anniversary here on Patreon! I launched at the beginning of August back in 2017. I had been planning for several months and was terribly nervous about finally making my site live. Although I had somewhat of a following on Twitter, and I hyped the launch with loads of content, the first 24 hours after launch were dead silent. The next day, I was able to get a few friends and family on board after practically begging. It was nearly a week before I got my first legit patron, not from my inner circle of friends and family. It might seem like a small success, but I was elated. That single patron proved there could and would be more. Month after month of constant output I managed to grow little by little, further feeding my motivation. 

While I’m still far from making a livable wage, I’m humbled by the progress I’ve made, and believe my content holds much untapped value. Not to mention all the exposure and opportunities I now receive on a regular basis. Unfortunately, freelance holds little interest for me. I’m just a selfish artist and will either live or die pursuing my own vision. Thank you so much for the support and keeping the dream alive. Here’s to another year of unbridled creativity flowing through your computer screens! 

In celebration of my two year anniversary, I thought it would be a good time to roll out a new tier. I’ve been thinking about this for a while, as I often feel my content is under valued. However, my output is already maxed so I wasn’t sure what more I could offer than a big thank you. Well, here’s what I’m thinking. 

$10 Pixel Producer tier - Download source files to my artworks and tutorials. These are mostly Photoshop files but I intend to start using Aseprite and Pyxel Edit more, too. Having access to my working files will reveal exactly how I organize my projects and animations. 

Additionally, your name will be bolded and appear at the top of shoutouts. 

Also, I would like to offer my feedback to those wanting personal critique and advice. I’m already doing a little bit of this here and there but I would certainly be more generous with my time to top patrons. I don’t have an exact strategy for this. I wanted to test the waters and see what kind of arrangement works best for people. Of course, email is always good, but I’m also open to arranging video chat sessions. Let me know what you think!

Of course, you also get all the rewards of the other tiers, and the prestige of being a ‘Pixel Producer.’ 

Along with the new tier, I also want to give the site a fresh coat of paint and update the banner image and the tier graphics. It will still be the same concept and tier names, just updated art. In order to accomplish this I am omitting Pixelcast from the schedule this month. I’m also hoping to spend time with visiting family during this time. Furthermore, the full update probably won’t be ready by the 7th, but I’ll share the WIP of whatever I have at this time. All other contents are scheduled as usual, including a real nice tutorial series!
