That "Bye Bye Bye" and "I Want it That Way" mashup was really good and why didn't we get full versions of both songs?!? I'm glad I never had to complicated choreography like they did with the ropes in that mashup. That would've been a disaster for me 🤣🤣🤣

Clay W

This is one of my favorite episodes of the seasons (particularly Santana's rendition of Cold Hearted). I agree with you on the Mariah/Nicki mashup. As much as I love Mariah, I wasn't familiar with that song at the time. That being said, I think it was on purpose when Blaine mentioned taking Sue down from the inside because I honestly felt like he held back. I also agree with your take on Brody. While it's his right to do what he wants with his body, he's in a relationship with Rachel. Not only is he lying to her, he's also putting her at risk without her knowing.

Annie Willow

Brody can absolutely use his body however he chooses for employment, the problem is that he is having sex with an unknown number of partners with unknown STI statuses without telling Rachel and also having sex with her. That is completely disrespectful and putting her heath at risk. They also had to have had unprotected sex at least once for Rachel to be worried that she was pregnant. They had discussed that they have an open relationship with the trust that they were honest about any other sexual partners they have. Rachel told him about Finn and the non-wedding and Brody is not holding up his end of the agreement. Santana’s heart is definitely in the right place. And yes, that was absolutely the hottest number that place has seen in years. I do hate that Kurt turned on her when he had agreed that Brody was suspicious, but she still was stick to her guns even after they kicked her out. Maybe having Finn come from Lima to deal with Brody wasn’t the most tactful choice but she was trying to protect Rachel from being heartbroken again and felt like that was the most effective was to get rid of Brody. If 16 year old Santana knew that 19 year old Santana was going to such lengths to protect Rachel she would never believe it.

Nikita Hankinson

While I personally don't have any issues with sex work and wouldn't care if my own partner wanted to do that, I can absolutely understand that a lot of people would not be comfortable with it. It's basically cheating and totally unsafe if it's done behind the others back.

Cassandra Ryan

while i agree with the other comments mentioning that it's unsafe/etc, that wasn't what the plot point was imo. that's def not what they were going for. santana's heart was in the right place but she definitely wasn't thinking of rachel's physical health and safety when she outed him as a sex worker.

Avalon Perry

The problem is not how Brody decides to make his money, it's how it affects Rachel's health that's a problem. For him to be having sex with multiple random people that could be carrying STDs, and then potentially be passing them to Rachel without her knowing, is absolutely unacceptable. Even more so since we know they were having unprotected sex if Rachel was worried about pregnancy. It's an issue of general trust and communication in a relationship, I don't have a problem with sex work, but I would certainly want to know if my partner was a sex worker.

Travis Manning

In all fairness we don't KNOW Rachel and Brody were having unprotected sex. Condoms break and accidental pregnancies happen quite often... and she wasn't even pregnant. Unless I missed somewhere in the episode where she confirmed that they weren't using protection ?

Siobhan Linehan

It's interesting that you really liked this episode because it's one of my least favourites of the season. The music is great but it's the storylines I have an problem with. Ryder not accepting Unique as a woman came completely out of the blue. Ryder has always been portrayed as this sweet and caring guy who's accepting of everyone. He's never shown any issue with Unique in the past. This is how I imagine the writer's conversation going "ok, we need three feuds in this episode. We have Will and Finn as the obvious one. We think Sue singing Nicki Minaj would be funny but Will is already taken so we'll make her feud with Blaine because of him quitting Cheerios. But what about the third feud? We've already done Marley and Kitty so we can't really do them again. Maybe Ryder and Unique because neither of them have sung for a while and Unique is trans so I guess we could make Ryder have an issue with that and we can resolve it by the end of the episode." It was just SO random and made no sense to me. The Rachel/Brody/Santana/Finn situation is a hard one. Rachel and Brody do have an open relationship. She wasn't honest about sleeping with Finn at the wedding but that's very different to Brody sleeping with multiple strangers. I have no probem with sex workers but Brody keeping that from her is totally not ok. As for Finn getting involved, I agree that he shouldn't be. He needs to let Rachel go already. I was never a big fan of their relationship and I feel like he's too needy and clingy, she's so independent and she needs someone who matches her energy imo. And as for Santana, she does her usual thing of pretending to care about Rachel when I honestly think she just gets pleasure out of her pain. I'm sure most people will disagree with me but it's how I feel. Her song was good though tbf. I just really don't like her. I'm sorry. 🙈 There were some positives. Becky was as funny as always. I love that Blaine and Sam are seceretly scheming to take Sue down. And I liked that scene between Marley and Finn, they have a sweet friendship. But yeah overall this episode isn't for me. Although like you said, everyone's different and all of our opinions are different and that's ok. I won't judge anyone as long as they don't judge me. Acceptance and love is the way forward. And I'm SO excited for the next episode, it's my personal favourite of the season. Can't wait to see what you think about it. 😊

Also I actually like Santana’s and Rachel’s friendship in this episode! It’s evolved so much over the years and continues to evolve. But I don’t really agree that she brought Finn down to put the hurt on Brody. I get she probably knows they (Finn & rachel) still love each other and Finn’s very protective of his family (Kurt being his brother and rachel a pastish lover) feelings never really go away they evolve

This was a long time ago when filmed and uniques situation wasn’t the norm. So I like the perspective they took because at this point a lot of teenagers wouldn’t know what to think about their life choice.

Siobhan Linehan

I totally get that. And you're right that especially back then a lot of teenagers would be confused about gender stuff. But Ryder and Unique have been in Glee club together for a long time by this point. Ryder knows how Unique identifies, had referred to Unique as "she" before a few times and has never once before questioned her identity. So this conflict was really random for me and it just felt like the writers made them argue for the songs rather than for an actual reason if that makes sense.

Jeanette Dawe

yes! I love this episode. Sue is hilarious as Nicki.

Ya I’m not sure if he ever called them she or not. I’d have to go back to look. I do agree it was poorly written but I don’t think it was necessarily just for these songs. I think it was to establish this online chat he has going

Annie Willow

If she was worried enough to think she could be pregnant then she should also be worried about STIs. She had cause for concern whether they used protection or not and with Brody not being honest about his other partners, she has no idea that she should be concerned about more than just a pregnancy scare.

Angelina Sargent

I thought in a previous episode she mentioned she is taking birth control or something? Am I tripping balls?

Angelina Sargent

Hahaha pastish lover... he called her his future wife. That sounds like family to me. And also super inappropriate considering she's unaware in that moment he plans to marry her.

BtsOT79798

I said pastish because they aren’t together at the moment but may get together in the future

Nicole Sadler

This may be wrong to say considering the circumstances but... Finn was hot when he was angry lol!

Gemma Rivera

I love this episode because it gave us two things...the iconic line, "Don't apply logic to Lopez" and that performance of Cold Hearted. I agree that it's the best and hottest performance that NYADA has seen in years. Love that they had Schue head up the NSYNC performance as Justin Timberlake was Ryan Murphy's first choice to play Mr. Schue. I do wish they had done full performances of both songs as well because both those covers were fire. Schue needs to get a grip and discuss the whole thing with Finn and Emma and clear the air because it clearly wasn't a romantic kiss, but I see that they had to do it this way to get Finn to launch. I'm so glad they had Marley kick his butt into gear so he could go on his own journey and not just try to walk in Mr. Schue's footsteps. The Blaine/Sue feud was also pretty pointless, but it gave us Sue's Minaj performance which in itself was a gift, lol. Sue is the perfect character to be over the top and she delivered. With regard to the Santana/Brody feud...Santana was looking out for her friends in her own way and I think that they really didn't give her enough credit. To side with Brody and kick her out was surprising and disappointing, but they are super emotional, so it makes sense, but to put their faith and trust in someone they barely know over their friend shows that they are not thinking completely rationally. My problem with the Brody being a sex worker storyline is that he was the one who preached honesty when Rachel got all bent out of shape about Cassie in the beginning of the season. He has a double standard and was completely violating it by not telling her about his job, and he was a total hypocrite by not sharing that and Santana sniffed it out. I kinda wish that she had called Puck or Mike to come and deal with Brody instead of Finn, but I'm glad that she didn't try to deal with it alone because there isn't a guarantee that she would be able to handle Brody physically. She also was probably desperate to get the situation resolved ASAP since she didn't have a place to live anymore. So glad you liked this one

So I get what they were trying to do with the Finn & Brody confrontation. Finn swooping in as the hero, saving Rachel from the “bad guy” and so on. The fact that Brody hasn’t told Rachel that he is a sex worker is a problem because even though I don’t think there’s anything wrong about him (or any adult for that matter) doing it. (As long as you’re doing it of your own free will and no one’s getting hurt I don’t care, you do you). I do think you owe it to your partner to be open about it because it might be a boundary for them. But all Santana and Finn are focusing on is the fact that he is a sex worker, not the fact that he’s being dishonest about it. Finn has no right to kick Brody out of Rachel’s life. Brody should at least have had a chance to come clean to Rachel so that SHE could decide if she still wants to date him. I mean, yes, Brody had the option to tell Rachel the truth from the beginning, and he should have. But the fact that Finn is acting like he has any sort of authority to decide who Rachel is seeing is honestly such a red flag and I don’t understand why the writers took that direction with his character development. Maybe it would’ve made more sense if he was in the final two seasons, who knows. When this first aired I remember thinking that the “stay away from my future wife” line was so romantic. Now it just comes of as controlling and obsessive. Also Santana saying that Brody owes Finn an explanation makes NO SENSE! As long as Rachel herself doesn’t ask him for help to deal with Brody he has no business interfering in her life!

I still don't know what Mariah song that was haha. Never heard that song before in my life!

Capri Zonica

It's a cover actually she did from an 80s hit by Brenda K. Starr - I Still Believe, which is the one I remember before the one Mariah did.
