"A swarm of evil spermies" 🤣🤣🤣So, that is Daniel Kaluya as you realized halfway through the episode. The movie you're thinking about is Get Out. He was also in Black Panther (he was Okoye's [the head of the king's guard] boo that betrayed T'Challa). I really liked Christina as well and had hoped she would become the next companion when I first watched the episode, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. That definitely makes sense though since the Doctor is still hurting from losing Donna as a companion. The specials get better as they go along in my opinion (this one was definitely better than the previous one). I'll see you for the next one!

The reason for all the specials is because of David Tennant landing his "other" dream role of Hamlet on stage in London. He wasn't able to commit to a full schedule of filming DW at the same time so they just did a year of specials instead. So yes, there was an extended period of time between seasons 4 and 5 in real life. Personally I'm not the biggest fan of the first two, but the next 3 are awesome (imo).

I'm really glad you liked this episode. It is a bit silly but it does make me smile. Definitely my favourite of these specials. Malcolm is so sweet. Like Mrs O said above, he's played by stand up comedian Lee Evans. A very big name here in Britain so him being on this show was a massive deal at the time. I remember the hype well. Whereas Daniel Kaluuya was a complete unknown at this point, this was quite a long tine before Get Out and Black Panther. But it's awesome to look back now and see him in this. Christina is played by an actress called Michelle Ryan. She's mainly known for being in British drama series and soap operas, but she did star in a show called Bionic Woman that aired on NBC in 2007ish. So maybe you know her from that. But I do love the character Christina, the best one episode companion the show ever had for me personally. It's just a shame that her episode came towards the end of David's time as The Doctor, maybe she would've had the chance to stay if her episode was in an earlier season, who knows. And what Carmen said to The Doctor always gives me chills. "He will knock four times" is such a spooky line. She literally tells The Doctor that he'll change when he hears those knocks, like imagine knowing that. You'd jump every time you heard anything resembling a knock lol. But I can't wait for you to find out what that means because it's genius. The next episode I'm not a fan of but many people LOVE it, even having it as their favourite episode ever. So I'll be interested to see how you feel. 😊

of these specials I've always really liked this one! Because we have a recourring character from the last few episodes the Captain of Unit who guned down Malcom the scientist she was the captian who helped rose and Donna in the last episodes specials!
