AGREED! The fact that Brit wasn't a part of Santana's coming out/glee week episode was more than a missed opportunity

Like episode 6 I have a love/hate relationship with this episode. For me the biggest highlights of both episode 6 and 7 are Naya Rivera's acting and performances for her character Santana. Even though in this episode we find out Finn meant well because he could tell Santana was struggling to come to terms with her sexuality it will always bother me how the writers purposely had Finn out Santana. The writers definitely could've went about Finn helping Santana in a different way. Always thought a better scene/better scenes would've been seeing Finn privately helping Santana because he could clearly tell she was struggling. Also in retrospective it would've been great to see more one-on-one scenes with Cory and Naya because in real life they were really good friends but on the show Finn and Santana are more so shown to be friends because the cheerleaders and football players are friends as well as being friends because of Glee Club (but they aren't necessarily seen as being close friends) so Finn and Santana don't have a lot of one-on-one scenes. Also even though this episode is about helping Santana come to terms with her sexuality I think what could've been shown is Santana and Brittany having a one-on-one scene or at least having a duet considering Brittany is Santana's girlfriend but she really only has a small role in this episode (she is essentially seen comforting Santana this whole episode/being a support system for Santana this whole episode but actually doesn't say much).

So, this is a turducken: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRT1WQXqdCw . I actually had one for the first time this past Thanksgiving with my cousin and his family. It was pretty good, but I would honestly take either the chicken or the duck (I think turkey is vastly overrated; the only turkey I like is deep fried turkey). Maybe a ducken would be nice, lol. So abuela and abuelita both mean grandma/mother. Abuela is a bit more formal (more like grandmother) and abuelita indicates a closer relationship (grandma, granny, nana, etc.). This is how I understand it, so if I got anything wrong, please correct me. Also, if my explanation offended anyone, I apologize. Each time I've seen this episode (this is my second time, lol), my heart broke for Santana in response to her abuelita's disownment of Santana! I wonder, if I was gay, how my family would react to it...Anyways, I forgot to mention that I love this new format! I can clearly see you and the content you're reacting to! Always enjoy your reactions, Travis!

Chris Colfer won a Golden Globe for Kurt's coming out story and I wish that they had really gotten behind Naya's performance this whole season because in my mind she deserved all the awards for her acting this season. She can do it all. In these past 2 episodes, she has made me laugh, broken my heart and cry, be mad at her for being so mean, and then root for and support her in her journey. There are very few actors out there who can take me through that journey of emotions so fast and she's one of them. I would have liked more of the Finn and Santana scenes to be one on one instead of in front of the whole group. Their heartfelt scenes at her locker and during "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" just packed so much of an emotional punch and Naya and Cory's friendship really came through for me in those scenes. They were great friends off screen and that's what I see come through in those scenes. I still wish that Finn had shown some remorse about his part in outing her and would have liked it more if he didn't basically blackmail her into dealing with it in front of the group. Santana came around though, which I think speaks highly of her growth in character and as a person. The Puck/Shelby thing always just gives me the creeps and I wish they had done better for Shelby since I really like Idina, but with Sectionals approaching and the heated competition between the Troubletones and the New Directions coming to a head, I can see why they had her character go down this route, it paves the way for something else.

I agree about Finn helping her more privately, that way they could really reconcile over the fall out in a way that highlights a genuine bond, and nod to the actors bond irl. Showing Finn cared about her not just because of their friendship through popular status, but as the person he shared his first time with would add to that weight and emotional dynamic. Maybe Santana attacked him personally out of proximity and expressing comphet resentment. There was a lot more to round out this progression, but it seemed like getting to the ultimate destination was prioritized.

Abuelita is the same as abuela. It's just more endearing. That scene was the highlight of the episode because everything else felt redundant and plus, I didn't like the songs, I mean, they're quite forgettable and just realized that I don´t care about the boys singing unless it's a group thiing. I liked Coach Beiste acting in this episode, tho.

There is so much that I absolutely hate about this episode that if it weren’t for Naya’s outstanding acting, I would skip it completely. I could write a whole dissertation on everything that I hate about this episode alone. First the song choices, though song beautifully, were terrible, especially “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and “I Kissed a Girl”. Both of these songs in context belittle Santana’s emotional struggle with coming to terms with her sexuality by saying her feelings are not big deal and what she and Brittany are doing is all just for fun when in reality it’s the complete opposite. I feel like “Perfect” would have been better if Brittany was singing it to her instead because all Britt ever wanted was for Santana to be herself. Also why the hell is Rachel singing “I Kissed a Girl” with her and why the hell are Shelby and Kurt jumping in on her solo???? Finn never apologized for outing her in the hallway and then blackmails her into a week of incredibly uncomfortable “Lady Music” all so he can look like the good guy and say that he cares abut her. Well if he actually cared about her he would have talked to her privately. No he panicked in Figgins office when he realized that she was going to get suspended and felt bad about it but instead of taking the blame for being the reason she lashed out, he blackmails her. Also, Figgins, Schue and Sue all knew about the conversation in the hallway and the ad and were supporting her and then they turned on her when she understandably lashed out at Finn. Unprovoked, my ass.

I agree with your opinion on Rachel at the end. She acts so impulsively. I think she has good intentions for the most part, but she lets her strong feelings about situations mess with the logical side of things. Also I really like this episode and the friendship between Finn and Santana that is forming. I feel awful for Santana and her relationship with her Abuelita though. Naya acted so well and was a face for people who are dealing with family who don’t support them, and I definitely think it made people who watch this show feel less alone

I don't know why both Kurt and Rachel felt so entitled to win when they knew they weren't popular. Their proposals were boring on top of that. Even Rick the sick had more chances because these things are about popularity.

Poor Idina. They really made her the villain several times. The Rachel thing, making out Shuester, the Quinn thing and the Puck thing. He's the worst tho. Quinn faked liking Shelby to get Beth but he used the baby to get with Shelby, Ugh!

i agree with this statement about Rachel! probably goes with the fact that she really never had friends... and now that she has, she doesn't really know how to act around them. bc they're still "competition" in her mind bc she grew up believing it was her or no one else. but in this ep you can also see her side that is 120% behind her friend and wanting to do what's best for them but doesn't see the big picture and doesn't realize she's in the wrong. her emotions are always getting in her way when it comes to friendship/relationship.

leslie martin

at this point i'm just skipping any scenes related to Shelby.. sorry..
