Dear Spartacus. Another heartbreaking episode of the brutal inhuman War against Humanity. You must have drawn the short straw, as Indy, in his episodes, must undoubtly see some genuine real daylight at the end of the tunnel. Whereas you see only the light of the flaring flames of hell or the light of the oncoming train. However, if I may, a small correction to your narrative: Anne Frank was german born in Frankfurt, only to flee the onslaught to the Netherlands in 1934 becoming officially stateless.

Very intense episode, thanks. What shocked me most about the Anne Frank house was that it looks very much like the place I grew up in :-( .

Thank you Sparty for covering not just the thoughts and feelings of Anne Frank during her time in hiding in the Annex in Amsterdam, but also both the things happening in both Allied and Axis territories, such as the escalating Allied bombing of Germany and the worsening famine in Bengal.

Thank you. You’re essentially right about the light in the tunnel, but i live on the knowledge that there is daylight beyond the incoming freight train, although we can’t see it yet. After all, although the world is far from perfect, these horrors gave birth to modern human rights, and ushered a period of increased peacefulness. It’s that fragile progress that I hope to help defend by doing this. As for the erroneous caption on Anne, that was missed in the fact check. I didn’t notice it myself, and I’ve asked the team to change it and exchange the video file. There was also an error of the placement of two quotes being swapped against each other. Again thank you, both for the kind words and diligence while watching. Spartacus.

"waiting for it to end"... sad note - sheep to the slaughter - thank God some some were able to do something.... seems the lesson is lost to history, where today some are "waiting" for someone else to do something.

titling this the "revenge bombing of Germany"seemed inappropriate - more like "waiting for help" while the war against humanity continues...

The Anne Frank House has a really impressive VR App that lets you “walk” through the house and eg live and understand her fear and claustrophobic living place. https://www.annefrank.org/en/about-us/what-we-do/publications/anne-frank-house-virtual-reality/

Following up: Here is the VR Experience but in Youtube. For those who don't have a VR Headset (these are still pricey and can cause motion sickness so it is best to try one first, maybe) Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzQcvwGh5M4

I like those old photo's of ppl in twine beds when 99% of couples sleep in the same bed Censorship is so funny when used this way

What a strong episode made all the more so by using the words of Anne Frank.

It‘s so important to never forget! Thanks for this important series.

My first thought was from a lecture by Howard Zinn, part of a bomber crew in WW II. Just because the other side is evil, does not mean your side is good. Then I recalled a statement from a German, do not recall who, saying the bombing did represent a second front. I lean toward the first thought, but have doubts.

Thank you, Sparty and crew, for this series. I look forward, and at the same time do not look forward, to every heartbreaking episode, wonderful and terrible as they always are. A minor note: at 2:27 you say "exasperate" when (I'm sure) you mean "exacerbate". https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/exasperate#note-2 I hope my nitpicking does not exasperate, Sparty!
