1924 is drawing to a close.
This harvest season the Surrealist Movement is born in Paris and, unsurprisingly, the birth of the weirdest style in modern art is surrounded with lots of eccentric drama.
Salvador Dali will one day become it's biggest star, but right now he is still in art school and has actually only just come out of prison. So will another - albeit less successful - aspiring painter we know all too well...
On the other side of the Atlantic a different kind of drama unfolds: a daring escape that will be the beginning of the end for Gerald Chapman, America's first ever "Public Enemy No. 1"

I've always enjoyed Dali's art, especially a painting called The Persistence of Memory. I've had the pleasure of seeing it in person, actually. ~ A few months ago, I joined your 1941 division and to my pleasant surprise, I see that you've upgraded its rewards. I loved your hour by hour series on Pearl Harbor and I'll be pleased to remain a supporter of the 1943/44 Division. ~ The patron/client model has been around for centuries and it's good to see that it has survived into our times. Kudos.

I laughed out loud at the title of Dali's "El Gran Masturbador" in the Reina Sofia when I first saw it. Cue many disapproving looks from the up themselves snobs around.

Hey late to this video, who was behind the push to release political prisoners in Germany? Was it a particular party or individual?
