This week Spartacus breaks down the Japanese occupation methods in their newly conquered territory in Southeast Asia. In Burma, the rapidly advancing Japanese forces have triggered a refugee crisis. Columns of fleeing civilians are strafed by Japanese planes, and as many as thirty percent are critically ill. Their situation is only made worse when vital supplies of water and food are looted from refugees by Japanese military forces. In Europe, Germany is also waging a war against humanity within its own recently conquered territories. In German occupied Poland mass murder by poisonous gas begins at the camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau and Sobibor.

The sheer scale of human suffering can be too difficult for our minds to comprehend, and each individual story is often lost to pure statistics and numbers. To even begin understanding the horrors which unfolded we need to try and look at each atrocity on a smaller scale. Because of this, when this series is completed it will be the longest documentary ever produced on crimes against humanity in the Second World War. To do all of this requires a great deal of resources, which is why we're so grateful for all of you in the TimeGhost Army. Without your support this project of remembrance would not be possible. Thank you, and never forget.

Let us just hope that the video won't get age restricted this time, but given some of the images in the video, I am sadly not very optimistic that YouTube will lift this restriction, fingers crossed. Never forget.

Over the decades I have heard about every reason and excuse for WW2 Germany and Japan's Racism . .. and then I have endured these same peoples Poor Me when they lost the war. Many have forgotten that many people and countries happily jumped on the Racist bandwagon too. We all probably feel superior to our Neighbors but history has taught us we are not... unfortunately many have not learned this lesson.

On the road to Mandalay, Where the flyin'-fishes play, An' the dawn comes up like thunder outer China 'crost the Bay! Could that thunder be Japanese guns and bombs?

I am impressed that the Modern Germany that I lived in really is concerned in not again becoming a nation similar to the Nazi State. It is a nation that has worked hard to preserve individual freedom and to maintain citizen control of the state. It hasn't always been easy but what I saw there tells me many nations could learn from their example.

I am a boomer as they say. growing up in the 60s and 70s in the NE USA. Not far from NYNY, I met Holocaust survivors. Jewish, Romany. I knew POWs. The war was not that far from when I grew up. I fear the youth today will completely forget this terror. This Hell on Earth. I hope not.

Again I would like to show my appreciation to Spartacus and the team for the way they put into words what cannot be described by words.....especially those last few sentences really where eloquent and respectful. I visited Buchenwald and Dresden (both sides of the story) and I took the train from Kanchanaburi to Nam Tok, the infamous deathrailway over Kwai Nok and I saw Hell's Gate....40 degrees Celsius, but I had water and food.... It has changed my life forever to have witnessed and experienced those places. I highly recommend to go and be part of this remembrance! Never forget.........

Thank you for sharing your personal story Harry. It's because of the encouragement and financial support that you and the TimeGhost Army give us that we're able to keep going. Best wishes from the TimeGhost Team.

We're working out a way to upload these videos independently of YouTube so that people of all ages can learn the important historical lessons, if they feel they're ready to. As you know the YouTube algorithm does not support this series, so it's only because of all of you here on Patreon that we're able to produce it.

The nice thing about using YouTube as a platform is that we're able to reach a somewhat younger audience, so hopefully this means we're reaching some people that might have otherwise been missed.

A late night thought (and I don’t have my copy of PIAT to hand)- any idea why it was in the Israeli DF inventory? Captured from British armouries (which begs the next question...)? Proliferation? Random black market? Cheers from Dom

I felt the same way going through the battlefields of WWI.
