Dear TimeGhost Army
,

The time has come when we are finally able to start showing you our 5 hour minute by minute in-depth coverage of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
We are so excited to be able to share this project with you - a project we never could have realized without all of you!

This is the first of 10 episodes, each of them 30 minutes long.
At the end of this post you’ll find a link to a playlist with all the finished episodes, and these are quite literally hot off the presses!
Our amazing post-production team is working on finalizing the remaining episodes as we speak, and as soon as an episode is done it will be added to the playlist - so you can be the first ones ever to watch it.

But before we start, a few words from our director, Wieke Kapteijns:

It was daring. It was never done before on such a scale and in such detail, but we decided to cover Pearl Harbor minute by minute.
And we decided to raise the whole series to a new level.
Directing it has been an intense and interesting task. I had to make sure that all the separate ingredients were hitting the right tone and would come together in a beautiful harmony to give our audience the most precise - but at the same time exciting - experience. Writing scenes for World of Warships to get the ships into scenes, directing 4 young pilots while recording gameplay from World of Warplanes, recording voice-overs, mixing colorized and black-and-white archive footage - and so much more!
This has been one of the most challenging undertakings, and I hope you will like it.
It is brought to you with lots of love from the whole team who have worked their asses off, day and night, to give you Pearl Harbor as it has never been seen before!

Thank you all for making this possible!!

Have now watched all Pearl Harbour episodes. Excellent and really good to see the strategic aspects covered so well alongside the specific events of the day.

Alright, so here's another pedantic comment observation. It regards the last episode, #10, "The Road to War". Most of the episode traces chronologically the reasoning on all sides, starting in summer 1940, that led to the war over a year later. Getting to the events of October 1941, at 23:10 Indy mentions the imperial conference of September 6. It's a matter of some importance, as the argument on whether the conference conclusions were mistaken leads directly to Konoe's departure & his replacement by Tojo. Following the narrative to 23:45 one can infer that the conference resulted in an imperial resolution/decision/edict to the effect that negotiations must bear fruit by early October, or else war. However, the conference is, I'm pretty sure, never discussed directly. 23:10 is the first time we hear of it. Earlier, covering the events of September 1941, the narrative moves straight from the emperor's Sep 5 meeting with military leaders (21:45), to the Sep 25 liaison conference (22:23). No mention of this crucially important Sep 6 event & its resolutions. Lost in the editing?

It might be worthwhile for your researchers to listen to James Eeling's podcasts The Principles of War about the Malaya Campaign. Some great stuff about the whole strategic blunders the Brits made, as well as the tactical and other aspects.

The most superb documentary on a single battle I've ever watched #smittystampofapproval

I am halfway through the Pearl Harbor series. So impressed with the details and the graphics. Really brings the history to life. Indy is a superb narrator who captures the drama and the tragedy as the story unfolds. I've been with the WWII series since the beginning and it just gets better and better. A sincere thank you! for all the effort that goes into creating such compelling content.

Have just finished watching all ten Pearl Harbour episodes. This is the best documentary history of this battle and the lead-up and start of the War in the Pacific that I have ever seen. Huge congrats to Indy and Spartacus and the Time Ghost team. What a superb way to tell such a dramatic story. I look forward to more such documentary series within WW2 in Real Time in the years to come.

Terrific. I only stopped watching because I had to go to work. And then continued as quickly as I could.

Why am I getting so many ads on the Pearl Harbour series when I'm a patron?

Absolutely amazing work! Where I can buy an Indy mug? lol

I thought that too until I realized that I was just going directly to the You Tube channel instead of logging into the TimeGhost site. Hope that helps.

This was a magnificent feat and some of the best work you guys have done on this series and when you were a part of the Great War series. Well done!
