Another great episode. Really like the narration of the war in Asia. Never knew about the situation in Manchuria having such a large impact to effect a strategic realignment of Japanese war strategy.

Though I already read and watched a lot about WWII, this gives it a totally different perspective. I'm looking forward to what's coming. Fantastic episodes!

As the war in Poland comes to an end, I hope you guys can keep making the top quality episodes we're getting used to between now and the spring of 1940 when it's relatively quiet.

TimeGhostHistory

Broken down to our detailed level it wasn't as quiet as it looks at the macro level ;-) lots of action even... the Winter War, and the reignited Sino Japanese War to just mention two things.

I guess I've been looking at it from a British perspective when it was called the "Phoney War". Even so, I imagine there's a lot of action behind the scenes in London, Paris and Berlin to talk about :)

Great episode, I hadn't realized the the fact that Khalkin Gol and the de invasion of Poland were so connected. We often forget that Europe has a common border with China via Russia. The fact the Soviets were closer to Nazi Germany is not that surprising. The allies had sent troops on Russian soil at the end of the Great War to help crushing the Bolshevik revolution. The enemies of my enemies are my friends, that alliance made total sense. Would have also made sense to prepare for a clash when the Nazi would win in Western Europe...

The conquest of Poland was so quick. Could the allies realistically have had any effect on the outcome there? Britain was still landing armies in France while the Axis was finishing their pincer on Poland.
