Been waiting for this episode!

one thing i love is they brought back original Darkwing actor Jim Cummings to play the new darkwing and his original actor before handing it over to a new actor, the new actor certainly has range as his other notable role is that of Storkules

This iteration of Darkwing Duck sticks to the Ducktales 2017 show. He shows up again in show-- and whatever comes of the DW reboot, it won't be this Darkwing.

The only people I’d put my trust in making another potential DT17 series, spin-off, or a Darkwing Duck reboot in the future are Francisco Angones and Matt Youngberg. They, along with other members of the crew, poured their hearts and souls into this reboot. They are the only ones I can see doing any DT or DW related series any justice. EDIT: Especially when you consider how many underwhelming reboots have come out in the last decade. DT17 is the best one.

Aw man I HATE that this show got canceled by Disney. Disney XD puts out great content

So been waiting for this reaction! And the Drake Mallard reveal at the end is my favorite bit of lore

I didn't know there was a Darkwing reboot maybe in the works? Man Seth Rogan is into everything these days, isn't he? I wonder if it'll be these characters or something totally different?

There's an interview with Seth Rogen on avclub.com from November 2022 where he references the DW reboot as something they're working on, so it's not dead yet, but it's been pretty clear from when it was first announced (2020, IIRC) that there wasn't going to be any connection to the Duck Takes 2017 version. I'm not saying it will be bad (assuming it hasn't gotten stuck in production hell), but Angones & Youngberg set things up for a compelling spin-off from their DT reboot and Disney did nothing with that. It doesn't fill me with hope...

This is my favorite episode of the show, and is why I became obsessed with Darkwing Duck. When the show ended, I might have written my own outline of what I think a continuation of this Darkwing story would be. I was obsessed. I love how they handled bringing the two worlds together. Back in the day, though LP was in both, they were separate universes...this is a way to combine them both believably. I also love how they turned Jim into Negaduck...that was such a good twist!! And this Drake Mallard has the same feel as the original but with a bit of a toned-down ego. This is the guy I see eventually adopting Gosalyn. Ahh, I love it! The joke about reboots is hilarious when this is actually a reboot—the irony. But thankfully, this reboot is so good and does everything right.

The reboot was announced Oct 2020.

Unfortunately this is the first and last time you see Negaduck
