Better late than Never

Bad girl.  To most, that means trouble-maker.  To others, it means rebellious sexuality. The girl your mother warned you about, the one who lives for the thrill, the chase, the hunt, the sweet satisfaction of disharmony and disestablishment.

There are many things people might dare to whisper about Lyra Wilder, but bad girl is one she has wholeheartedly adopted for the sake of protecting that which she loves.  For while the stereotype of such a term might denote a lack of empathy or connection,  Lyra lives, breathes, and fights with tooth and nail everyday to protect the peace and solemnity of her beloved neighbors of Lubold Pines.  Leader of her self-selected group of motorcycle riding, leather jacket wearing, ripped clothes, tattooed, seeming hooligans known as the Riot Wolves, she is a force of nature, a take-charge daughter of a glorious tradition handed down in a bloody line of succession.

But in her heart, she's always yearned for something more than the endless patrols, bad girl attitude she embodies and projects to even her own followers, and the never-ending war of constant vigilance towards those who might disturb the peace and tranquility of her mountain-town home.  Lubold Pines has and always will be a place of quiet, mystery, and safety, if she has anything to say about it, but even so, she longs for something more.  Fast and easy with her fists, her mouth, and her authority, she plays one card close to her chest and never shows to anyone, save for the mountain wind and star-streaked skies that overlook her sleepy township she has been sworn to protect from the shadows looming in the darkness of night where even her keen senses cannot fully pierce.  Alone on her favorite peak, she sings a song of longing and hope, for the day she no longer has to fight her battles alone.

And as lucky would have it, someone might have heard that song once again.
