Chapter 7 A small lover's quarrel with Harill

As the sun rises, it looks like it's going to be another beautiful day for Harill as he heads back to Misery after defeating the Misrosaurus.

The thought of telling his family about the victory brings a smile to his face―――

―――or so, he thought.

If it weren't for the super-low atmosphere of the beautiful ladies walking on either side of him.

The other adventurers had returned last night, but the once-dead man had stayed the night in Narka village just in case, and returned with Mari and Sophie.

Harill was trudging down the street, sandwiched between the two of them.

"Saint-sama, why don't you be a little more cheerful, you're scaring Harill."

Sophie speaks to Mari, but it's in a rugged tone that makes her shrug.

"Isn't Harill intimidated by the knight's mood?"

"Is it my fault?"

"That's what I said. Didn't you hear me?"

The two of them glared at each other, their eyes sparking.

"Just so you know, I'm no longer a knight. You have to remember that."

"Oh, dear. I'm not sure what to make of that. But I'm laughing at the fact that you're wooing the wrong person."

"Then who exactly are you? You told me yourself that you were reincarnated from another world last night."

After the defeat of Misrosaurus was over, Mari told Sophie the whole story.

That she had been reincarnated from another world into this one. The game she had been playing in her original world and this world were very similar. That's why she knew about Narka Village and Misrosaurus.

All Sophie replied was, "Okay, Saint-sama."

That was a shock to Mari. The only friend she had in the world had shunned her. There was now a gap between them. Mari took her anger out on Sophie, and they have been fighting ever since.

The bickering between the two continues.

"You were called Saint-sama in the previous world, weren't you?"

"How many times do I have to tell you that's an MMORPG story!"

"What's an MMORPG?"

"It's a virtual reality created in 3D... it doesn't matter what I tell Sophie, it will not be understood!"

"I heard Saint-sama was a great person, but it seems that she is not. I don't know why I need to be so humbled by this person."

"Then why don't you stop currying favor? It's actually preferable for me."

"You know, a knight has a position. How can you not understand that!"

"Oh, I thought you said you were out of the knight business. And I don't want my friends to call me 'Saint-sama' to my face, why can't you understand that?

The two of them were now in danger of exchanging blows, and Harill didn't know what to do. However, she felt that something had to be done about it.

"Ah, um..."

""What!!!""

The two yelling voices hammered against each other.

"No, It's nothing."

He was painfully reminded of his helplessness.

As if to help Harill out of such a dilemma, a group of people approached the scene in a cloud of dust. It was a carriage escorted by three horsemen.

"O---i, Sophie!"

One of them, a strong knight, shouted Sophie's name. She responded with a wide wave of her hand when she realized who it was.

"Commander ----, here ----!"

The group stops near the three of them, all dismounting from their horses and approached Mari.

"Sophie, is this her?"

"Yes, this is Saint-sama."

The knights get down on one knee facing Mari.

"Saint-sama, it is an honor to see you."

"This is the Commander of the Third Order, His Excellency Cloyde."

Sophie introduced Mari to Sir Cloyde, her former superior in the Order.

Sir Cloyde, a thirty-five-year-old knight. His full name is Brian Joques de Cloyde.

"Sir Cloyde, my name is Mari."

Mari turns to Sir Cloyde and bows her head.

"Sophie has mistaken me for Saint-sama, but I am no such person. Please stand up."

"Okay, I understand. However, I am here with orders to welcome Saint-sama. May I call you Saint-sama until I clear up my mistake?"

Mari was puzzled, but she agreed that it was inevitable and said yes.

"Then please come to the carriage, along with Sophie and the boy with her."

The three of them climbed into the carriage, and the group began to drive toward Misery the way they had come.

And a few hours later.

Mari and her friends were caught up in a terrible incident.
