Cardonali the magical imp was doing what he always did, he caused   trouble to others for his own amusement.  Cardonali had the ability to   put any thought into a person's mind and manipulate them as he wanted   to.  He stood unobserved or at least unacknowledged in the back of an   elevator waiting to see who would get in.

"Danny, my man, come to the apartment at 7 and we'll have an epic time.  My parents will be out and we can play Forze all night."

"We can play Forza any night, what's the big deal."

"Just come over."

"Naa, I have things to do."

"OK, you've ruined the surprise, I have scored some brews my parents don't know about and I finally figured out my dad's code on the TV."

"You mean?"

"Yeah, porn.  Lots and lots....," Logan paused as his mind was rewired by Cardonali.

Continuing without missing a beat, Logan said, "you can't come tonight, but we can have a slumber party tomorrow."

"Really?"

"Yeah, if you come early you can help me and mom make brownies."

"YUM."

"Then we can watch a rom-com on TV.  Mom knows all the best ones.  But if we don't like them, we can do each other's hair."

"Anything else?"

"I was going to surprise you, but if you aren't too chicken, my mom can pierce your ears.  She said she was going to pierce mine, she can do yours too."

"I don't know.  What will my mom say?"

"Don't worry about it.  If she doesn't want you to wear earrings, then it'll grow back."

"I'm there.  What time?"

"Well for the brownies, you had better get there at 4:00."

"I'll ask my mom, but if she says OK, I'll call you.  But I want to go.

Dani got off the elevator on her floor.  

Logan hoped Dani's mom would say yes.
