Ahhhhhhhhh the OJST books started arriving in people's mail todaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!

Oh my gosh Oh my gosh Oh my gosh!!!

Not gunna lie, I'm hella proud we beat our November estimated delivery date. BAM.

AND on a completely different note:
So this Legit Mainstream Entertainment Network contacted Matt and me yesterday about appearing on their Legit Well-Known TV show to talk about sex toys. WHOAH RAD. Tell us more, we said! We want you to review this one specific product, they said! We want you to use it ON CAMERA, they said! ... uh, whoah, hold on there, dudes, we said. We're the kinda sex toy reviewers who keep their clothes on. That's ok!, they said. You can use them under a sheet while we film! So, uh, so how much do you compensate for appearing on your show?, we asked. You understand that we can't pay for this kind of thing, they said, but IT'LL BE GREAT EXPOSURE!

...Nope.

Nope. Nope. Nope.

Ignoring the obvious joke about being filmed while masturbating and the concept of "exposure", that just... isn't the direction we're taking OJST.

I wish our society didn't stigmatize and punish sex workers, I wish sex work weren't used to justify closing down people's bank accounts and denying them services, I wish people could have sex on camera and not be slut shamed and harassed by strangers and peers alike.

But as it stands, the consequences for consensual sexual interactions created for public consumptions are too hard. I have mad respect for porn performers and cam girls and strippers and sex workers of all stripes; they're braver, harder-working people than me.

The show might still wanna license some of my OJST illustrations, though, so that's still on the table.

People really get odd ideas about some things. It's like one of friends who got "but you have loads of tattoos, why won't you have sex with me?" like there was some direct correlation between the number of them you have and how likely you were to have a random hookup with someone. And anyone pulling the "we can't pay you, but it's good exposure" line should be treated with the contempt they deserve.
