Hello everyone!

The first thing you'll want to do after starting your faction is recruiting the many denizens of Skyrim to your government to manage the different aspects of your newly formed faction. To do this, you'll either need to find someone whom you have a positive relationship with, or you'll need to pay someone whom you do not.

I'll go over those positions here:

THE STEWARD

The Steward's responsibilities lie with the administrative, economic, and diplomatic aspects of the faction.

Their administrative duties so far include allowing you to change the name of your faction whenever you wish, setting where you want your faction's capital to be, and choosing the title that you want your subjects to refer to you as.

You will primarily go through them whenever you want to manage the trading of resources that your farms, mines, and lumber mills produce as well as setting up tax rates for all of your cities and villages. They are also necessary when you need to balance out the resources that your cities and villages produce(like making sure food produced in Whiterun makes their way to Winterhold). This trading system needs a post of its own to fully explain so I'll leave it at this for now.

Finally, they are responsible for diplomatic relations with the other Jarls and leaders of Skyrim. Whenever you want to declare war(implemented) or form an alliance(not yet implemented), you will go through them.

THE GENERAL OF THE ARMY

Your General acts as your second-in-command of your army and is responsible for recruiting and strengthening your forces.

Your army will be able to have a maximum of 10 groups of 20 soldiers (200 total), each with its own commander. After you have selected a commander for an army group, you will be able to go to your General and manage it. This includes recruiting more troops to it, or giving a different task to accomplish.

So far, the tasks that are implemented are hunting, following the player, and patrolling in a hold. I plan to add more tasks such as returning to base, mining(if in a mine), and raiding caravans.

The General is also who you will go to when you want to upgrade your troops. The troop upgrade system is tier based, in which you choose which type of troop you want to upgrade and then spend coin and metal on that upgrade.

Soldiers and Warriors upgrade tiers consist of heavy armor upgrades while Archers and Crossbowman consist of light armor upgrades. The City Guards that defend your towns can also be upgraded and can use either light or heavy armor as well as all types of weapons.

I am considering creating a Master Blacksmith position to handle the troop upgrades instead of the General.

Last but not least, catapults can be purchased from the General, which help thin enemy numbers in sieges but have the added detriment of causing damage to the city, which will need to be repaired once you conquer it.

THE COURT MAGE

The Court Mage is not yet implemented but my plans for it involve being the person who recruits magical troops for your armies. These include Mages, Skeletons, Draugr, and different types of undead. They'll also serve as a shop who you can purchase magical items from(like the vanilla court mages).

THE SPYMASTER

The Spymaster is also not yet implemented but I have a whole system planned out for them. It will involve setting up spy rings in other factions that can report important information such as garrison numbers and troop movements. This'll then be useful in getting the locations of enemy caravans for you to pillage.

So far those are all the court positions I have implemented or at least started on. I'm considering doing others such as Thanes but I'm not too sure what their purpose would be as they are usually referred to as "an honorary position". I continue to work hard on the mod and hope to get it released to you all soon. Thank you again for your support!

As far as the hiring of armies goes have you considered adding "special units" or upgrades depending on what you have captured. For example if you have Markarth under you control you could have dwarven spheres in you army or if you have Winterhold your mages would be stronger.
