Server Upgrade (Patreon)

As some of you may have noticed if you follow us on Discord, we’ve just finished migrating Infinite Backlog to a better server. There's still some kinks to work out with the redirect of our .nl domein, but we're fully functioning on https://infinitebacklog.net

This server upgrade is something we’ve wanted to do for a very long time because the growth of IB, both in services and users, was starting to put a real strain on our server, causing noticeable slowdowns and issues on our end. This new server lays important groundwork that will allow us to optimize IB better, as well as continue to grow our user base. Future server upgrades will also be a lot easier and quicker to perform as long as we have the necessary funds.

On that note, we want to thank all of you for your support. Without it, this upgrade would not have been possible so it’s thanks to you that Infinite Backlog can continue to thrive and grow to become the best backlog site out there!

With the end of the year approaching we also wanted to take this opportunity to look back on 2023. We are extremely grateful that we have such a dedicated community using Infinite Backlog every day. Infinite Backlog is our passion project, but it’s because of all of you sharing your ideas, feedback and support with us that we can continue to stay this passionate about it! Some of the highlights of the past year:

• Challenges: Since this feature launched at the start of the year we’ve added 100 series/collection challenges, 45 new release challenges and held 9 events.
• Titles: Alongside those 100 challenges an equal amount of unlockable titles were added to be shown off on your profile.
• Multiple games per platform: Sought after by many, the unique requirement on platforms was removed to allow duplicate collection games across any platform or service.
• No Status: Even those games you never intend to play but still want to keep a record off can be part of your collection with this new status.
• Backlog Myth: At the behest of some users, a higher Patreon tier was introduced and a total of 22 awesome people have upgraded or signed up to support us since.
• GOG integration: Daily imports of owned games, earned achievements and playtime of your entire GOG library.
• DLC completion tracking: Tracking owned DLC was nice, but being able to track your progress is better.
• Play Log: Alongside the automated one, the new manual play log allows for detailed day-to-day journaling.
• Play Records: An extensive, complex feature that lets you track nearly anything you can think of within games, whether it’s in-game achievements, stats, high scores or collectibles.
• Improved playtime tracking: Full control over playtime was added with options to choose from manual, synced or playthrough time tracking as well as a switch to hh:mm format.
• Polls: Collect opinions, host a quiz or let the community choose what game to play next, polls introduce a new way to interact with the IB community.
• GOTY 2023: Our second GOTY event, now including a new feature to select your top games of 2023 to determine IB’s top 2023.

This year has been great and we can’t wait to see what’s next in 2024! Until then, we hope everyone can use the holidays to relax, play some great games and enjoy the new year!
