X-Men: Last Stand - Patreon Version

This isn't as good as the previous movies but its not bad. Bryan Singer decided to make Superman Returns instead of this. The Cyclops actor James Marsden is also in that so he didn't have time to do X-Men. That is why his role is so small.

dieselbeast

Hey! We're back lol I'm not really excited for this film I'm just excited cause this gets us one step closer to first class and days of future past lol

Charley matthews

I would be so much more eager for these if they hadn’t seen Logan yet 😂 to me all these movies are just a build up to that one. I wonder if they’re going to do the rest seeing as some are flat out terrible movies. This one is a solid 8 compared to Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix.

PureGonzo

First Class and Days of Future Past are amazing though; some of the best in the entire series.

JediLounger

So now that you guys are done with the original trilogy and are approaching the more modern films, you may want to watch some historical movies about the conflicts of the 20th century before carrying on with the series. The really obvious one that I would check out is Thirteen Days (2000). The community might be able to think up some others. I think it would give some valuable context.

FWPJR.

I love all of the X Men movies you two have reacted to, X Men and especially Wolverine are some of my favorites ( X Men was actually the first comic book I had in the early 90’s ) I’m not a big superhero fan, besides Batman I haven’t seen that many movies involving superhero’s. But the X Men movies have always been some of my favorites. But I haven’t seen any of the newer ones, just the original 3, so I’ll enjoy this last one.

Odd Thomas

Not the best but still fun and the Jean Grey stuff is a stand out. People hated the Dark Phoenix movie with Sophie Turner but I'm not ashamed to say I loved it. The score by Hans Zimmer is so underrated and one of his best imo, so give it a chance

djKENTO

From here on out the continuity gets pretty rocky. You just gotta go with it. Some things won’t make sense. Some characters will change. The time line will change… You just gotta accept what they’re telling you at the time.

djKENTO

Mystique used to only be able to turn into humans. In fact she shouldn’t have been able to turn into the Statue of Liberty display in the first movie at this time. But she, like many X-Men have changed and now she can change into basically anything. The movies don’t go that far.

Odd Thomas

Two great Ben Foster movies: 3:10 to Yuma 30 Days of Night

Jay Davis

I'm sure if I thought harder I could come up with something dumber. But this one is most prominent... As a kid, I honestly believed the chicken hearts and gizzards our mom would make for dinner were just "normal" chicken meat and only called that because of their shape. It wasn't until I was a young adult that I figured out they actually were exactly what they said they were. TBF I never asked and was never tricked into thinking that. It's just what my dumb kid brain thought.

djKENTO

okay The Phoenix Force is a giant ancient cosmic being that bonds with strong hosts. It often bonds with Jean because she’s so powerful. But The Phoenix requires more back story and space travel and all kinds of other goofy comic book shit to tell its story properly. This is a pretty smart way to get it done in a singular movie, but really to do it right would take SO MUCH TIME.

Things I believed as a kid: I grew up in a very small town (600 or so on a crowded Sunday). The local grocery store was run by a guy named Elmer. Until I got into kindergarten, I thought he made Elmer's Glue in the back room of that store.

Astraeos

Wait wait. You guys haven't seen Hell or High Water? Okay. That needs to be added to the list like right meow. Ben Foster, Chris Pine, Jeff Bridges. Probably the best Modern Western that exists out there.

Michael Green

I like this one more than most X-Men fans, though it's quite messy in a lot of ways. Still, very far from the worst of the bunch.

Young Blood Priest

Superman returns is the continuation of the late 70s early 80s Christopher Reeve movies. Speaking of which the first two Chris Reeve Superman movies are a must.

I have a little complaint to make.^^ ... So, I understand it´s your channel and you can watch and upload whatever tf you want, so don´t be too upset about me compaining.^^ My complaint is not regarding X-Men movies, it is the frequency. This is the 3rd X-Men movie within the last six or seven weeks but there are other sequels waiting for you to enjoy them^^ like Scream 2, Scary Movie 2, Wayne´s World 2, Lethal Weapon 4, Die Hard 4, Gremlins 2, Halloween 2, Saw 2 (four of those are in the horror genre so I see you´re probably waiting to watch them in October/Halloween which would be understandable and you already replied to me months ago regarding Saw movies as to why you´re waiting to watch/upload the next one, so I´m not completely ignorant regarding your decisions^^). I´m not mad or upset, I´m just pointing out some things. (I don´t live in an english speaking country so sry for possible grammar mistakes)

Astraeos

I think the 90's X-Men Cartoon did the Phoenix really well, and they're about to "remake" it and release that whole series soon.

Paul G

I recommend the movie Down Periscope if you want to see Kelsey Grammer in another role that's totally different from Frasier. My comic book knowledge is pretty poor but I believe Scarlett Witch is also supposed to be an Omega/Tier 5 mutant but because of the copyright issues they can't refer to her as a mutant in the MCU.

djKENTO

if you’re taking about X-Men 97, that’s not a remake. it’s a sequel to the original series, picking up right after it ended.

Grubering Hans

i will wager a guess that they arent going furhter with lethal weapon or die hard because the last 2 rounds of those entries have really low numbers, which means people want something else. and theyre avoiding halloween 2/ scream 2/scary movie 2 and especially saw 2 probably cause of YT content police demonetizing the first entries to those franchises. 🤷‍♂️ frankly im just happy theyre actually finishing some franchises now. although they arent always the franchise i personally want, but thats my issue not theirs.

Sumner Hayes

Of the last 23 movies they've put on YouTube, 2 of the top 3 in views are X-Men and X-Men 2. Personally I'm not a fan of so many sequels, period (I'd like to see a more diverse selection of movies), but I can't fault them for going with what the most people are watching, both from the perspective of trying to please the most people and from a business POV.

Odd Thomas

Yeah if you grew up with the Reeves movies you'll find a lot to like in Superman Returns. Younger people didn't really connect with that film which is a shame as it's pretty good (if overlong)

Odd Thomas

Well done for catching the end credit scene! I love how the Danger Room scene makes zero sense on second viewing, lol. I won't object to you watching the next X-Men movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine. It's an okay movie but so much of it is just retelling Logan's backstory that we already learned in the last 3 movies. Audiences felt the same and it didn't do well at the box office. I still like it more than The Wolverine, which is the next and dullest entry in the entire franchise. BUT then we get Logan, which is generally regarded as one of the best.

Mastervodo

When I was younger, my (5 year older) sister yelled at me to stop watching her pot of water she was heating up on the stove. Because a watched pot never boils. She literally thought that me watching her pot of water was making it so it would not heat up.

Foodassassin4life

Not exactly something I believed in but when I was 14 my mom laughed so hard she almost crashed because I didn't know she was engaging the turn signal or that there even was one when I stupidly asked how the car knew where to go cuz the turn indicator on the dash would always flash before she turned. Apparently I was so focused on the dash that I never saw her hand reach over to click the turn signal

Foodassassin4life

2 Great movies with Ben Foster are Hell Or High Water and 3:10 to Yuma please watch them

Guillermo Antonio Ricci Alvarez

There is a famous comic where Magneto ripped the adamantium out of Wolverine...and then Magneto was punished by Xavier leaving him in a Coma

ChickensAreRacist

Fun reaction! Can’t wait for the next one. And really really can’t wait for Logan (but understand if you gotta get thru certain other movies first). Edit: also, yeah it looks ashy. Also looks Thanos-y. Idk. I like the Phoenix take, but don’t know the lore.

DM DC

Kelsey Grammer as Beast is quite possibly one of my favorite casting choices of all time! I remember years before this came out (between the 1st and 2nd movies) thinking that he would be so great as Beast. Then I learned he was cast for it and I was soooo excited! So this is my least favorite of the 3 movies, but it had Beast who is one of my favorite X-Men Characters. I loved Kelsey's portrail of Hank "Beast" in this movie, everything I hoped it would be and more. Over all my biggest gripe with the X-Men films is we never got Rogue as she was in the cartoon and comics. My other gripe was we didn't get Gambit in any of these 3 movies. But I still enjoy these movies none the less. X-Men: First Class (2011) is wonderful though, it was a nice soft reboot to the series. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) was also weird but interesting. I'd highly recommend both. I'd really recommend all the X-Men movies. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) was also weird but it was a fun watch. I believe there are post credit scenes in all of them but I only recall one off the top of my head which does lead into the following film and I believe it's in Days of Future Past.

Mastervodo

When talking about mutants, in the comics they describe mutants with "no upper level" of their powers as "Omega-level" mutants. There is a great explanation (and a list of some Omega-level mutants, most of which y'all probably have never heard of) from House of X #1 (comic) h ttps://imgur.com/gallery/w2lKgF8

sarCC

First Class is the most X-Men-y movie, until Deadpool. It's my favorite movie with X-Men in its title.

akaTheBARON

🖤As a kid I also believed in the "Empty body/food cavity" theory. But another thing I believed as a kid was all roads used to be water/rivers and we just traveled by boat. To the store, the dentist, wherever. The reason I thought that is because they have those rivers in Italy where they do those Gondola rides. I'd see pictures of it, think they were old-timey pictures, assume they did that all over the world, and just thought those rivers were at one point paved into roads when people started using horses. #StupidBabiesNeedTheMostAttention

REDR58

Aside from everything else wrong with Dark Phoenix, the greatest travesty of that film is Jessica Chastain’s magnificent natural red hair being hidden by that awful wig, She’s generally just wasted in that movie.

BlakeK80DrumCovers

So the whole Split personality trope that they went for here is basically because the original story of The Pheonix would require the makers of this movie to introduce a lot of back story, locations and characters that they just had no real chance of feasibly doing. The whole thing would've taken up a trilogy of its own. They would've needed to introduce the Shi-ar empire (Xaviers love story included) The Centurian (Basically Marvels version of Superman) and The Corsairs which would open up the whole Scott and Alex Summers lineage thing up... So yeah, i can forgive them for just putting The Pheonix's existence down to Jean having a split personality.

akaTheBARON

🖤To answer the Magneto/Adamantium question, yes he can manipulate (bend it and such) the adamantium as well as vibranium and Uru metal which is what Thor's hammer is made from (Thanos' sword from Endgame is also made of Uru). And Magneto did rip all the adamantium from Wolverine's body leaving him with a regular bone skeleton and bone claws some time ago. It was pretty gnarly. He went feral for a while and licked Cyclops on his face, it was a whole thing XD. Nothing is ever permanent in comics tho LOL. Ultimately he's more of a tank with the adamantium and more formidable with it (even tho it constantly poisons him making his healing factor less effective because part of it is always being used to heal him from the adamantium poisoning) but having it gone has its perks too I suppose.

BHillzebub

To add to this thread they are pretty much slaves of YouTube's algorithm. If a Movie does pretty well (numbers wise) then they can go ahead and do the sequel without affecting their visibility. But if a Movie does badly they don't want to post a sequel that probably wont do well as it will hurt the channel no matter how much they want to watch it. TL:DR As long as X-Men does well on YT they will ride that popularity wave.

BHillzebub

I would recommend they watch Origins only to see Simone's reaction to how dirty they did DP.

MD Simmons

Spiky guy could just be Asian representation

Skyruff

Drat, I almost got my shout out in tremors. Dam that alphabetical order, foiled again!

PoopsInShoes

These movies do to the comics what Rings of Power does to Tolkiens works, but worse.

FranciscoGios

Simone needs to know why Ryan Reynolds dislikes the old live-action of Deadpool

Brendan Rafferty

These X-Men movies sort of fizzled out… You definitely need to check out the later X-Men films with the younger characters, starring James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as younger versions of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan. Those films (First Class and Days of Future Past) really elevated the X-Men franchise

FranciscoGios

I think I mentioned about what type of classes some mutants were in movies to give you an idea that most favored characters are not that powerful. Most powers from this characters come from above meaning some possess Alien technology, others have Alien gems & one that I know of is possessed by an entity that is not from earth.

Chase Schleich

Hope this means you're leading up to The Wolverine and especially Logan. You really need to get to those films. Logan is top 3 best comic book films of all time. A lot of people have it at #1.

Chase Schleich

I hope they watch them all, but at a minimum they need to get to The Wolverine and Logan. Can't stop doing these films until they see those.

Patrick

Same. I'm not into super hero movies at all, but X-men is always interesting to me. I like some Superman movies as well (except batman vs superman, that was garbage..anything with "vs" in the title is bad)

Superpotroast

Lethal Weapon 4 is the best and while Die Hard 4 isn't as good as the others, it's a fun movie..So I hope they get around to them eventually, but yeah, Youtubers could just do whatever, regardless of views or whatever..But that's probably not the best way to make a living if Youtube is your main job.. Most reaction people seem to follow a certain curve of movies, and I like Cinebinge because while they also do lots of the common reaction-type movies, they also do ones I've not noticed the other channels doing..Or in some cases, they do a movie and then all the other channels follow..

Patrick

Looking at their Patreon user count vs subs on Patreon, they make WAY more money on Patreon subs. But there is a direct correlation between YT views for a movie and how many people are going to watch on Patreon.

Patrick

Idk if it's accurate, but someone in the comments said they've both already seen Logan.

Superpotroast

It's also the guy from Lost and most recently shows up the new Avatar Last Airbender (Live Action) show..Ken Leung..

Patrick

Someone said they've already seen Logan, which wouldn't surprise me.

Superpotroast

I haven't watched this one for a hot minute and I forgot that Shohreh Aghdashloo (The Expanse) and Ellen\Elliot Page was in this..And yes that was R. Lee Ermey's voice during the, Absolutely No Metal Scene..

Chase Schleich

Edit: You guys covered some of this in the trivia section, but here's more detail if no one else has mentioned it. The scheduling conflict for James Marsden (Cyclops) was Superman Returns which was a somewhat sequel to the 1979 Superman film (which was a stupid idea) with the original X-Men/X2 director, Bryan Singer. Singer got the chance to do Superman so he left the X-Men franchise to do that project which damaged both projects. Singer wasn't the right fit for Superman and Brett Ratner wasn't the right fit for X-Men 3. I think X3 could have been on par with X1 and X2 if Singer had stayed and Superman might have been successful with a different director. I don't normally give you any spoilers for potential future films, but you'll probably never watch Superman Returns (and you shouldn't). Throughout that entire Superman film, Superman stops a few regular thugs pulling a robbery and the only thing he fought was an island (yes, he literally fought a land mass in the middle of the ocean). THAT'S IT! He does nothing but fly around all depressed and goes full stalker on Lois Lane. That's the entire film. Like WTF....

Chase Schleich

Not on the channel so they must have watched it privately. Still all for them watching the rest of the series though. Hopefully they decide to do First Class and Days of Future Past.

Jared Winn

I don’t think that the spikey guy was pointless. I’d say he has dozens of points, but only when he unsheathes them.

Ted K. had a point

Since you like scifi, why not check "Source Code" from 2011. It's not about coding, but sort of thriller version of "Groundhog Day". Starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan, underrated on reaction channels (basically no reactions of it). IMDb score 7.5 Rotten Tomatoes 92% (critic score). Seriously, since there's no reactions of it on YouTube (except maybe like one, by some tiny channel) if you react to it, all the fans of that movie will flock on your channel (which I would assume is a lot... because it was effin great)

REDR58

And then they collapsed with Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix. The Last Stand is hardly great but it’s far better than those.

REDR58

George that is indeed R. Lee Ermey’s (Full Metal Jacket) voice in the cure weapon armory scene.

REDR58

The best scene of Superman Returns is the minigun scene. The rest, eh. Brandon Routh was pretty good as Superman, but he was wasted in that movie.

REDR58

Wrong! “Tucker & Dale vs. Evil” is great! Then there is “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and “Kramer vs. Kramer”!

Gunnar Rea

Good ear George.. R Lee Ermey is in fact in this movie.. had to check after you put the thought in my head.. Well done

FWPJR.

Can’t really tell someone that their opinion is wrong because it’s their opinion, you like all those movies and that’s your opinion. Maybe he hasn’t seen those movies, and the vs movies he has seen he thinks are bad. I know I haven’t seen any of the ones you named, so I can’t say I don’t like them or hate them. And tbh the only vs movie I’ve seen is Jason vs Freddy and I still love that movie, I know a lot of people think it’s crap but I enjoy it.

Roddy Hutchinson

Vinny Jones, check out Locked Stocked and Two Smoking Barrels, Gut Richie directed, better than Snatch IMO

Tanx

hehe almost everyone just thinks of Kelsey Grammer as posh and sophisticated Frasier, but I see the Navy pirate sub commander from Down Periscope who has "Welcome aboard!" tattooed on.....well I won't spoil that. But yeah he has the perfect voice for Beast IMO. and with current CGI, I think him taking on the part again for future MCU media is quite a good fit. Cyclops had to die...because the studio was pissed that he was working on multiple projects at the same time. Yup, Iceman becomes an omega level mutant as his powers fully developed. dude can turn into ice, be smashed into almost nothing, melted, evaporated and then reform over time basically making himself invulnerable to death. he can manipulate water and ice at the molecular level and con basically send his mind through water and ice around him. Storm is also an omega level mutant. I mean she can manipulate all weather on any planet. so that is pretty op when you can basically create catastrophes on any part of the planet or all over the planet. Superman Returns was basically an appropriate title since I wanted the theater to return my money. I liked the guy playing Superman too, the story was just so....meh. I mean it was in 2006. they had the tech to make him have some crazy knockdown world-shaking fight with a truly powerful villain and that is the movie we got.

Tanx

yes, Superman Returns was the biggest letdown ever. 2006 with decent or even crappy cgi they could have had him actually fight a freaking powerful villain. it was almost like couldn't buy the rights to a single DC villain or something and didn't want to right in a original villain to fight. yeah the minigun scene was really cool but more showed what they were capable of doing and didn't do with a villain fight scene.

Gary Fixler

I also thought the body was somewhat hollow. I was told that if you swallowed gum, it would stick to your ribs (a thing old people told kids back in the day), and it took many years before I realized the digestive system is an enclosed tube. I also thought boys aged faster later, because mom told me not to worry that my cousin - a girl - was taller than me, because "boys just mature later than girls." I later mixed this all up, and proudly told my 2-months older cousin that one day I'd be older than her, and she was livid.

Cory Garron

Kelsey Grammer was in one very short scene of Star Trek: TNG, he spoke to Picard via the viewscreen.

Nate Terry

Don't take comics for gospel. at least after the first age, or after a character gets first written. every comic writer that follows the original always puts a new spin or different twist on things. Magneto is a supremacist. he turned into what he hated. The Last Stand was not the best. they tried to wrap up a story by killing everyone. plus, they created background characters that they stole mutant powers from. The bone dagger man Logan fought in the woods, there is a badass character names "Marrow." she lead a sewer underground mutant group too hideous to live above ground called the Morlocks. there is a whole arc and her powers are bone daggers. they butchered this story badly and then did a "undo" with the cure and with Professor X's death at the end....lol.
