The Unrated copy was the only one we had access to, we know this is always a debate in every movie with multiple versions, sometimes theatrical is better other times uncut or extended is better. In this case the limited options made the decision for us.

Brick is the dumbest, followed by Derick Zoolander, and Ricky Bobby is just ignorant, he has at least a grasp on words for the most part. lol

I dont mind what copies u watch, u at least always say the play time in the beginning so if I have a copy that has another time I can look for one that fits urs.

The book was indeed Ender's Game. Posted an HD image of the scene and of the specific cover. https://imgur.com/ZNA5Txl https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61369655-ender-s-game

Completely understand why we used this one, but I think this is one where the theatrical is better. Some of the random joke alts just end up repetitive.

You replied to the wrong post (which I've also done on this channel, twice).

I feel like they didn't recognize Ricky's dad was Lumbergh from Office Space. I'm gonna go ahead and need them to get me their TPS reports by the end of the day.

I love cars, and certain styles of racing (rally mostly) but Nascar bores the hell out of me. But it is VERY physically demanding. There's no power steering in those cars and you're averaging over 190mph, often going well over 200. Most drivers will lose 6-8lbs in water weight during a race.

OMG that applebees commercial poor timing actually happened on CNN like last year during footage of the Russian Ukraine war.

There was a short after credits scene you missed since Simone entered the darkness, but it's not that great so probably not that big of a deal.

Greatest non-ironic American movie? Apollo 13 or Forest Gump

King_Panarisi

Damn as a Belgian it's so weird seeing that in the USA they call Delhaize, 'Food lion'. 🤢

It was an interesting conversation at the end they were having about taking normal every day words and making them offensive. We've done that with a lot of words. A lot of "offensive" words have actual non-offensive origins, they were just co-opted by certain people and became offensive terms. Bitch is one, it just means female dog but it's become an offensive word over time. Another one is "r*tarded", that word has an actual definition in the dictionary and is used a lot by people working on car engines - "r*tarded ignition timing" for example. Another one is the f-word for gay people, that word just means a bundle of sticks but it's become a slur and considered hate speech now.

normal words didnt just become offensive, they have a history, and continued use today, of being used to oppress or otherize (justify continued oppression) groups of people. pointing to what a word "just means" ignores the material consequences of its use

i posted this comment for the wrong movie, they were talking about this after the South Park Movie. Anyway, the discussion was that George said what if we took a non-offensive word like "carrot" and turned it offensive, like calling someone a carrot means something bad. My point is that we've done that for pretty much every "offensive" word, like those used in my example. You obviously didn't understand the discussion.

hard to understand a discussion i didnt see since i didnt watch the south park one, dont know why you felt the need to get aggressive. anyway, those words you cited weren't random like carrot, they are all associated with the oppressed group, and thats why they retain so much power despite being, nowadays more or less, disassociated from their origins. for example, youre right, the f slur is a bundle of sticks, but it came to be a tool of oppression because women were generally were the ones who collected bundles of sticks (so connecting gay men to women, which is still done today), and those bundles of sticks additionally became associated with burning at the stake
