Was trying to decide what to do tonight and this popped up so I am watching this.

The Wire is my favorite show of all-time, but given how dark and depressing it can be (even with all of the humor), there's really not a more perfect palate cleanser than Ted Lasso, quite possibly one of the most wholesome TV shows ever made.

It's a really great blend of British and (North) American humor, I'm loving it! I also love the soundtrack haha. Btw it was actually the Brits who first called it "soccer", but then they changed it to football, which I agree makes more sense, and American Football should probably be called something else because the foot only comes into play at kickoff, field goals, and punting, but good luck changing Americans' minds on that.. Speaking of funny shows that mix British and American humor, "The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret" was hilarious, doesn't have the heart this one does (I really love Ted, I try to be like that in my life, I dont see the point in being negative, the world has plenty of that as it is, right?) but it was funny as hell.

Btw, Simone and George need to take Roy’s advice and react to the funniest movie he’s ever seen: Stepbrothers.

Best show in years. Major Parks and Rec vibes - it’s corny to say this but it makes you want to be a better person

I did not recognize the shame nun, but I did recognize the bar owner as the Slitheen woman from Doctor Who.

Simone's statement of "I don't think my heart can take this show" is actually wrong. Based on what we've seen of her heart in so many reactions, this show is made for her, and both of their hearts have already felt a glimpse of what's to come. Keep the tissues handy because, for as funny as this show can be, there are some moments that will hit you hard in the feels, usually when you don't see them coming, and they can be happy or sad tears. You're both going to fall in love with almost everyone on this show and there are amazing character arcs ahead. Like another commenter said above, it's a show that makes you want to be a better person. I'm so happy to get to rewatch the whole series with both of you.

The book was indeed Ender's Game. Posted an HD image of the scene and of the specific cover. https://imgur.com/ZNA5Txl https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61369655-ender-s-game

My god, George. That is a massive mug.

Brett Goldstein, aka "Roy Kent", was hired as a writer on the show, and did a Hail Mary to ask to play Roy. He's pretty much the opposite of Roy - look up his Muppet Christmas Carol show.

Yeah I'm definitely with George on the Jamie Tart thing. Simone is very lucky to apparently not have met people like that? I dunno, maybe it's a guy thing, or for my perspective, more of an American thing. But honestly almost every guy I met before turning like 30 was pretty much just like Jamie Tart. Just emotionless, shallow, egotistical children. As a guy whose very much not like that, its pretty tough trying to make male friends.

they should have the british actors speak british english. They say Jumpber, not sweater. lol
