I hadn't been to the cinema since the pandemic started but ventured out to see this one and loved it. So glad you're doing it. It's a really fun movie. Close enough to the game for us D&D nerds but changing what they needed to work cinematically and work for non-D&D folk.

I ran a 13th Age campaign once that had a fat red dragon with low self esteem. Probably the most memorable part of the campaign, The players found it hilarious.

The characters all have NPC stat blocks, so not things you can make yourself as a player in a D&D game. But I can see why they went that way. Still, as someone who loves playing bards, one of my few disappointments from the film was that Edgin ( Chris Pine ) didn't cast any spells, felt more like a rogue who sings.

🖤Wow! Such a great cameo (the ex husband) LOLLL. This was definitely what fans wanted the previous DnD movie or the WoW movie to be and they easily could have been. I'm circling back to playing DnD in the coming weeks and will for sure be giving this movie more viewings in the future. Glad Simone finally got to watch this, I know it was KILLING her when it was in theaters. #MiniCooper

Have you guys seen the Community episode "Advanced Dungeons & Dragons"? I heard that it's been pulled from streaming because of some controversy, but if you can get your hands on the Season-2 DVD...... They basically use a game of D&D as a suicide intervention. It's intense - and brilliant. And naturally hilarious in Community's squirm-worthy way.
