Remember, you can vote for multiple films!
Reminder: movies that don't win does not mean they will never be watched, it just means they will be watched later. Please be respectful to each others opinions, we're all just here to have fun and watch movies :)

Changing the subject from the strong theme in the comments: With Pride month right around the corner, here are some classics to consider if you feel like doing a theme for June. :) - The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert - To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar - The Birdcage - But I'm a Cheerleader

Logan Kerlee

This poll is great! I voted for the top two leading films so either way I'll be happy at the end of this methinks. :)

Gotta go with Zoolander on this one. Ace Ventura is peak Jim Carey. _Loved_ that movie when i first saw it in theater, and again when i watched it a couple years later on the small screen. Then i saw it once more a few month back and the whole thing just felt kinda flat, total disconnect from the prior experience in my memory. Had nothing to do with the content itself and the politically charged shift in present day 'allowed' humor that will trigger some younger, thinner skinned souls, but rather that the performance itself seemed not as good as i had thought it had been. Maybe there's simply an age limit to Jim Carey's specific brand of physical comedy since i can re-watch old Ben Stiller movies from roughly the same era and they still are as fresh and hilarious as the first time i saw them twenty years ago.

I'm hoping you do Nice Guys so it'll trigger a Ryan Gosling series, specifically Drive, which is AMAZING.

Call me a snob, and with no disrespect to Lane and Williams, but i much prefer the original La Cage aux Folles from 1976 to the American remake The Birdcage. The same with Priscilla vs Too Wong Foo.The remakes aren't bad (even if i could quibble some casting choices), but despite best efforts there is something that simply gets 'lost in translation', so to speak.

Please add "Pineapple Express" to your next list of comedies to watch.

To each their own—I enjoy the Bird Cage just fine without having seen the original French film, personally. And it's actually a common misconception that To Wong Fu is a remake of Priscilla; they just have a few similar elements. To Wong Fu was already in production when Priscilla came out. I find them to be fairly different films, personally; Priscilla is more about the road trip, and To Wong Fu is more about being in a small American town.

These are decent, but I'd also like to suggest some other great ones: The Blues Brothers (1980) Wayne's World (1992) It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World (1963) The Great Race (1965) What's Up, Doc? (1972) Scavenger Hunt (1979) The Meaning of Life (1983) And Now for Something Completely Different (1971) Ernest Goes to Camp (1987) Ernest Goes to Jail (1990)

I think Blue Brothers would be difficult on You Tube due to all the music. As for Ernest, well I guess different strokes for different folk, know what I mean Verne?

James Whalen

We really need more reactions to Wayne's World, especially by Canadians.

Seconding "Wayne's World", but not "Wayne's World 2". Second one's basically a rehash, but Aerosmith shows up at some point.

I was meaning to watch one of the Ernest films again for funsies. Probs Ernest Saves Christmas.

Have they done Jennifer's Body yet? I think the Birdcage would be a great palate cleanser after Ace Ventura. That final sequence? That's practically the antithesis of Pride month.

Throwing out a request for Fat Man and Little Boy (1989), about the creation of the atomic bomb, particularly at Los Alamos, NM. Simone will never look at Barclay from TNG the same again. Also, The Right Stuff (1983) since you've seen Apollo 13.

glad The Nice Guys (2016) did so well.
