Really love the return of cinecringe. If you haven't heard of it check out "The Room" which is considered the best so bad it's funny movies ever made. It still has occasional theatrical runs in theaters even now. Here is one scene from the movie for an idea. The entire thing is like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIkoXhgtI58&ab_channel=KarlMaksudov

I saw the film in a theater before it was sold to TV in the early '60s. I was eight years old. Bunny Breckinridge was a friend of my grandmother and he wanted his friends to see him in the movie. In real life, Bunny was far more fabulously gay than The Ruler (the alien with the axe on his chest). He adored transvestite Ed Wood. Nearly all the actors were buddies with Wood... even the great Bela Lugosi. Bunny laughed at how many of the "day for night" scenes were both shot and developed incorrectly and look like daylight, because Wood did not care to do things correctly... just to do them quickly. This is a kid (Wood) who loves making movies making another one.

Chris Parnell does voice Jerry on Rick and Morty but I believe you meant Joe Lo Truglio from B99. That’s who the deputy reminds me of.

The Room. Especially if one of you has watched it and the other hasn't. That needs to be a rite of passage for all reaction channels. :D Once it's been watched once, it becomes the textbook definition of schadenfreude.

Yeah, you guys absolutely have to watch Ed Wood now!

I think the reason kissing is so bad in these old films is that there was nothing to learn from. If you wanted to see two people kiss, you had to go to an X-rated film, but only adults could do that, and the people in the film grew up under the same restriction.

I agree with others and feel like you two should watch Tim Burton's "Ed Wood" while this is fresh in your minds.

I don't think that's it. I think most people can work out how to kiss on their own. I think that it was just too lewd back in the day to actually kiss on screen. There was real kissing behind closed doors and "stage" kissing for movies and theatre.

There's a rumor that Vampira had a son with Orson Wells. https://www.wellesnet.com/vampira-orson-welles-son/

Watch ED WOOD next, PLEASE!!!

I have to say, Plan 9 is far from the worst movie ever made, from an entertainment perspective. Clearly, $60.000 was not enough to make the epic they reached for, and there is very little talent in front of or behind the camera, but i've watched this movie countless times because it's so darn charming and entertaining. Knowing the backstory (and Watching Tim Burton's Ed Wood) makes the experience even better.

I agree. I'm sure Simone could do a hilarious Tommy Wiseau impression.

So I hadn't seen this since an arthouse showing in the 90s... waited till I could enjoy a gummy, and was ready to tap at like 39min when George mentions how hard it's gonna be to edit... (figured I knew the ending xD ) But a couple mins later Simone stumbled upon the Ed Wood connection... so I had to see if there was follow-through, and that didn't happen until the hour mark, and from there on it was kinda a blast (probably just the timing)... Anyway, it was great to see you pivot cinecringe into something like this, always liked the concept. all here for the Ed Wood movie watch though... p.s. I watched along with a colorized version... they chose purple for the alien costumes.... :)

For nastalgia sake, I watch this movie; Bella Legosi, the (original Count Dracula), died in this movie, and the movie was filmed the rest of the way with a stand in for Legosi, who used a cloak to conceal it. That's the reason for the cloaked creature. This is the first time I finished this movie, only because you stayed till the end.

This had me intrigued about some notorious bad movies, so I watched "Manos: The Hands of Fate". My take: not enough goofy badness for a good reaction. It's very, very bad, but in a dull and frustrating way, imo.

Being a big MST3K fan, I love this! Would enjoy seeing you watching more really bad movies. You guys should watch “The Room” from Tommy Wiseau! How about a bad movie poll?🤔
