You should definitely watch Rush next if you liked this movie!

Joe D. MacGuffinstuff

The "George in a hotel" episodes are cool with me (I mean, I'm sorry a million plus people were out of power but...), they're a little retro, just because they kind of remind me of your early stuff, the RAW Cinebinge, the early years lol Also, George is talking about Lamborghini, he was the one who started building tractors and then got into building sports cars, and he was a pretty cool guy, very down to earth and just liked building machines and driving them, as opposed to the Ferrari guys who sound more like douches. Oh I was just thinking of another "car" movie, Quentin Tarantino's least favorite of his own movies (but I liked it), Death Proof. It's a cool homage to the car movies of the Seventies, BTW I'm probably wrong but I think the Burt Reynolds car movies like Smokey and the Bandit and especially Cannonball Run really started the post credit bloopers scene, again, I'm probably wrong but Cannonball Run has the first bloopers reel that I can recall.

I love how every comment is a recommendation to watch something else, but not anyone's opinion on this movie.

Not a racing movie, but Drive is a great car movie. The Driver is also really good. Smokey and the Bandit is pure fun.

This, like The Wolf of Wall Street, is another one of those "I was sure I'd hate it but ended up loving it" Movies...

Logan Kerlee

lol, I'm glad you enjoyed it! It always makes me happy when people realize that they enjoy something that they considered uninteresting.

As an american and an avid auto racing fan, i knew this story going into the movie. But Le Mans, in my opinion, isn't followed by a lot of people in the US. So i feel like a lot of american film goers may not have known it was a true story before seeing the film.

Racing drivers used to drop like flies, Lorenzo Bandini the guy driving the Ferrari died in a crash in F1 i think, aswell as Bruce McLaren who ended up winning the race instead of Ken Miles... he died in a testing crash much like Miles.... I'm sure there's plenty of other drivers in this movie that had a similar fate. Perhaps watch Rush, a good F1 true story....

I'm prejudiced against motor sports (daddy issues) so I put off watching this movie although everyone said it was really good. Joke's on me. It's really enjoyable and I think I like car movies, even though I don't wanna admit it. I was interested in hearing more of your pet peeves, but it's probably a good call to not delve too much into those.

One thing to note - HFII wasn't crying because he was terrified. He was crying because he had *no idea* what it was like in a car like that... and he wished his daddy had been alive to experience that.

Enzo Ferrari was a racing driver in the 1920s. He was OK, won a race or two, and then formed the Scuderia Ferrari in 1929. A few years after that he gave up racing himself, and when Alfa Romeo had some financial difficulty the Scuderia Ferrari took over running the factory Alfa Romeo cars. Ferrari and Alfa Romeo split just before WW2. After the war Ferrari wanted to get back into racing, but he needed money to support that, so he started building and selling road cars. This was 1947. Ferrari first won Le Mans in 1949

Eddie Hall drove the Le Mans 24h solo in 1950, when he was 50 years of age. A few others have done more than 20 hours in the race.
