Under siege is another masterpiece of Tommy Lee Jones extraordinary acting style.

not a big fan of Will Smith right now, but the movie is good

At the end, Kay looks up and says that the stars are beautiful. Actually, he's standing in downtown Manhattan, about a block from the office where I worked for a few years. I can promise you that the stars don't look at all beautiful there. The haze looks pretty ugly. Otherwise, the movie is completely believable.

Had such a great time watching this with you both! Initially it was hard for me to believe that neither of you have watched this before.. then I remembered when it came out and that made it pretty clear. I remember watching this as soon as it came out on video. Had an awesome time watching it with a buddy of mine. :) lmao, but yeah, seeing the both of you react to this was a treasure! Made me feel so happy. :) I'm really glad that you both enjoyed this movie! The sequels aren't nearly as great - in my book anyway. The latest one was pretty terrible, as well. With that said though.. SUPER LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT MEN IN BLACK REACTION!! xD

Evolution, Men in Black, Galaxy Quest...was a great time to be alive

I didn't know David Cross when I saw this in the theater, but looking it up now, this movie occurred during the run of Mr. Show, so he did both at the same time. I didn't find out about Mr. Show - and fall in love with it - until the early 2000s. It was fun to see him pop up here for 30 seconds.

Galaxy Quest is another great 90s sci-fi comedy along these lines

Waiting for Galaxy Quest for the longest time now. I hope it'll come soon... .

This is one of my favorite 90's films. It actually had an amazing cartoon series that followed it up on KidsWB.

ohhh, that would be perfect. Seeing at least one season of pre-year 2000 Star Trek is highly recommended.

I've found that the often called for "see some TOS" is really not that necessary. While there are a few moments of "old" footage of a low budget show, the movie really builds itself on the infamous interpersonal relationship issues of the TOS cast and the con experience. Familiarity with cast conflict and cons goes well beyond TOS which is why I think this movie gets such a good reaction, even among reactors with no Star Trek background. That said, it is a love letter to both the TOS and the TOS fans and there are a few excellent specifically targeted jokes.

the line "it just be rainin' black people in New York" was an add lib by Will Smith.
