Written by Bill Rowan and released on the Male Transformation Blog in May of 2014, "Mirror, Mirror" is a story that tapped into unique ideas and has held a place in my mind ever since.

"Mirror, Mirror" by Bill Rowan

It's no secret that I'm a fan of transformations that feature celebrity faces so of course the use of Colin O'Donoghue (or at the very least his face) from Once Upon A Time certainly caught my interest with this one. It isn't just the face that made me enjoy "Mirror, Mirror" so much though, as it plays with fantasy and fairytale elements that aren't often explored in the more 'mainstream' parts of the transformation community.

The presence of mirrors - both magic and otherwise - in transformation stories has long been one of my favorite tropes and "Mirror, Mirror" uses it perfectly as the trigger for the transformation, casting the protagonist into a new fantasy life as a leather-clad prince. It's a different take on the usage of mirrors and it works well.

Now that I've reread this gem though, I have a sudden urge to write some fantasy-inspired stories...

Feel free to leave a comment if you enjoyed the story or have any other favorite transformation stories involving fantasy or fairytale settings!
