In a day or two I will post the next chapter of Red Sky Dead City, adding two locations: the Esplanade of High Sphinxes and the Antidiluvian Tomb Warren. Here's an excerpt from the tomb warrens:

The air thickens with age, the sun weakens, the sky flattens. Color leeches in the featureless white expanse. Ice sprites dance with every stale breath. The tombs are odd, squat, unsettling. Fawn marble and cream limestone, now stained dark brown and dull black, dominates the quarter.

Grinding time: the whole quarter would like nothing better than to be forgotten. Accursed time grinds like teeth in the back of every mind and eats away at the memories of all who dally here (every day a hero spends here, they lose one memory forever).

But, more than just two more chthonic and terrifying locations, this chapter also brings a few other things.

First, general encounter tables for the dead city, for when six local encounters won't suffice:

But ... hey, what's that. Caches of ... equipment? This meant I needed to add those, too. So I did.

I've also renamed the baseline currency from shekels to cash, to reflect the money used by Iks.

This is all great stuff for players, because it means there's a lot more book they can read. Oh, yeah. I'm redesigning the whole book so the referee-only sections are red-lined.

versus

So I'm now basically in layout hell. Taking chunks of text, polishing them, and putting them into the book to fit.

Still, all that polishing means there is some more good news ...

Skeleton is getting fleshed out. And also got a playtest with actual skeleton characters. Still, that's not coming in Red Sky. That's it's own thing.

Rounding off

So, yeah, Red Sky is coming together. The layout is holding up well and I even got the tables to (more-or-less) behave. Four woots.

Now, if you like all this, you've got a couple of days, tops, to spread the word and encourage more folks to hear about WTF. The weird little one-man-diy-creative-enterprise being run out of a coworking space in Seoul. There's even a free preview of Red Sky you can share around: http://bit.ly/red-sky-dead-city-free-preview-v1

Ok, back to the metaphorical drafting table.

I'll be back with a louder thank you note once I finish with this beastie.

Cheers heroes,

Luka R

Man, your layouts are serious business. Love it. Can't wait for Skeleton. Also waiting on the final layout of Eric Nieudan's Macchiato Monsters, which is a kickass piece of work.

Very cool looking.. the random tables are the usual unusual that I expect from you :D The skeleton character sheet is interesting too... Sidekicks and companions right on the page is very nice!

Thanks, Andrew ;) ... yeah, Macchiato Monsters is a fun game. I think I've got a unicorn illustration in that.

Oh, you'll be surprised when you see the rest of them ... ;) ... the sheets actually vary a little by class, with wizards getting spells, fighters getting gear, and thieves getting a gang.
